Job Summary
The Infra and System Engineer is responsible for managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure, installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining systems, and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. They will work closely with teams that include software developers, administrators, solution architects, network engineer and other engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission-critical infrastructure. For instance, the system engineer will work with business analysts and partners to gather and analyse requirements for new or updated systems, or with quality assurance engineers and testing specialists to test and validate system designs and functionality.
The System Engineer will also write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks. This includes supervising projects, systems engineering events as performed by the technical team. You will monitor, organize, manage a project's tasks, assess and calculate the technical features of a project plan to ensure that the systems engineering procedures are operating correctly.
Key experience for this role:
We are looking for someone who have the working experience in Microsoft Entra, Cloud Architecture and Azure including roles as System administrator with basic networking knowledge and team lead experience.
Job Responsibilities
1.1 System Management
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
1.2 Infrastructure Support
- Supervise a project's systems engineering events as performed by the technical team.
- Monitor, organize, and manage a project's tasks.
- Assess and calculate the technical features of a project plan to ensure that the systems engineering procedures are operating correctly.
- Support on Azure cloud infrastructure for system and application operation.
1.3 Technical Support
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Impact and Scope
- This role covers the overall companies’ Systems, Infrastructure, and the System Management Tools which ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, maintaining security, backup, and redundancy strategies, and automating business processes using customized operating systems and IT databases.
Education & Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering / Information Technology or equivalent
- CSEP / Microsoft Azure Architecture Certified / System Engineer certification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in areas such as information security, systems engineering, integration, or systems architecture.
- Skills in systems problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work as part of a team, independently and make decisions.
- Strong mathematical concepts and analytical skills.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and ability to work well under pressure.
- Able to explore new ideas and innovation, partner with key team members across the organization to deliver effective IT solutions.
- Possessing good working knowledge of information security, integration, and data architecture on top of technical knowledge of hardware, software, and networks will be an advantage.
- Experience with virtualization, cloud computing, and Microsoft Azure will be an added advantage.
- Background in business administration, project management or related field will be advantageous.
- Strong in interpersonal skills that are essential to work well with global business, technical, manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain functions across various geographies and cultures.
- Fluent in English, strong in written and communication skills. Any other languages and multi-cultural skills will be an advantage.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to travel and take on short overseas assignments on an as needed basis
