The Global Certification and NPI Manager will be responsible for overseeing the certification process for Electronic Cash Registers (ECR) and Point of Sale (POS) devices in various regions around the world. This role will ensure that all devices meet local regulatory requirements, obtain the necessary certifications, and manage New Product Introduction (NPI) and cataloguing for different regions. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of global certification standards, excellent project management skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
Certification Management:
- Lead the certification process for ECR and POS devices in different countries.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and standards.
- Coordinate with certification bodies, testing laboratories, and regulatory agencies.
Regulatory Research:
- Conduct thorough research on local certification requirements for new and existing markets.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards that affect product certification.
- Develop and maintain a database of certification requirements for various regions.
Documentation and Submission:
- Prepare and submit all necessary documentation for certification applications.
- Ensure timely renewal of existing certifications and maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather required technical documents and information.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product development, quality assurance, and legal teams to ensure product compliance.
- Provide guidance to design and development teams on certification requirements.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support market entry strategies.
New Product Introduction (NPI):
- Lead the NPI process to ensure smooth market entry of new products.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and marketing teams to align NPI strategies with certification timelines.
- Ensure new products meet all regulatory and certification requirements before launch.
Cataloguing:
- Manage and update product catalogues for different regions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
- Work with regional teams to customize product offerings based on local market needs and certification standards.
- Maintain a centralized database of all product variations and their respective certifications.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the certification and NPI processes.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures for regulatory compliance.
- Provide training and support to internal teams on certification requirements and processes.
Project Management:
- Develop and manage project plans for certification processes, ensuring timely completion.
- Track progress and report on the status of certification projects to senior management.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to certification timelines and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing product certifications and NPI, preferably in the ECR or POS industry.
- In-depth knowledge of global certification standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using project management and regulatory compliance software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a related field.
- Certification in Regulatory Affairs (RAC) or equivalent.
- Experience with ISO, CE, FCC, UL, and other international certification standards.
