The Star Alliance headquarters in Singapore, coordinates the global activities of the Alliance including managing joint projects on behalf of its 26 member airlines.

Based in Singapore, the Senior Director, Corporate Planning & Business Intelligence position is a critical leadership position that reports directly to the Vice President Corporate Strategy, in the Corporate Strategy Business Unit. In this role you will collaborate extensively with leaders and all employees, mostly with our Customer Experience and Digital & Technology heads.

The Senior Director, Corporate Planning & Business Intelligence is a dynamic and strategic role that involves a holistic approach to organizational development, combining financial acumen, technological expertise, and effective leadership skills to drive the company's success. This role involves overseeing planning initiatives, the competitive landscape, managing business intelligence processes, and leveraging data to drive informed decision-making.

Corporate Planning and Strategic Alignment:

  • Develop and analyze various business scenarios to assess potential impacts on the company's performance.
  • Recommend proactive measures to navigate different business situations.
  • Ensure that all corporate planning activities are aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Collaborate with leadership to maintain consistency and coherence in strategic initiatives.
  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and feedback.
  • Build relationships that contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the business landscape.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress against strategic goals.

Business Intelligence

  • Lead the design and implementation of robust business intelligence processes, systems, and tools.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making by overseeing the gathering, analysis, and dissemination of actionable insights.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for data management, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security in collaboration with the Digital and Technology department.
  • Implement governance standards to align with data privacy and security regulations.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on the performance of corporate planning and business intelligence functions.
  • Build relationships that contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the business landscape.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the product organization, emphasizing the financial goals of the company.

Your Profile

  • A minimum of 8 years work experience in a Corporate Planning & Business Intelligence in a leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • A substantial track record of leadership experience in corporate planning or strategic management, demonstrating a history of successful strategic initiatives.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic leadership, aligning corporate planning activities with overall business objectives.
  • Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Deep understanding of the Airline and Alliances industry, market dynamics, and customer needs.
  • Experience or exposure to global business environments, with an understanding of international market trends and regulatory landscapes.
  • High level of proficiency in English is essential, as it is the sole language used for communication with Star Alliance Member Airlines and other external stakeholders.
