Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented Cinematographer cum Editor to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position requires a creative professional who can expertly capture high-quality footage and then transform it into polished final edits. You will be responsible for the visual storytelling of our projects, working closely with the director and production team to create compelling visual content from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

Cinematography:

  • Visual Storytelling: Collaborate with the director and creative team to understand the project's vision and translate it into compelling visuals.
  • Camera Operation: Operate cameras to capture scenes, ensuring optimal framing, lighting, and composition. Select and set up the appropriate camera equipment for each shoot.
  • Lighting Design: Design and implement lighting setups that enhance the mood and atmosphere of each scene. Work with lighting technicians to achieve the desired visual effect.
  • Shot Planning: Develop shot lists and storyboards with the director, determining the best camera angles, movements, and techniques for each scene.
  • Equipment Management: Manage camera and lighting equipment, ensuring it is well-maintained and ready for use. Make informed decisions about the best tools for each project.
  • On-Set Collaboration: Work closely with the director, actors, and production team to ensure the visual continuity and quality of the project during filming.

Editing:

  • Footage Review: Review raw footage and select the best takes for editing. Organize and manage digital files for efficient workflow.
  • Video Editing: Edit footage to create cohesive, engaging, and visually appealing final products. Work with software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Sound Editing: Sync audio with video and edit soundtracks, dialogue, and effects to enhance the overall production quality.
  • Color Grading: Perform color correction and grading to ensure visual consistency and alignment with the project’s mood and style.
  • Special Effects: Integrate special effects, graphics, and animations as required by the project. Work with motion graphics designers when necessary.
  • Revisions: Implement feedback from the director, producers, and other stakeholders to refine and finalize edits.
  • Project Management: Manage timelines, ensure projects meet deadlines, and maintain organized project files for easy access and future reference.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in both cinematography and video editing. Experience in [specific industry, e.g., film, television, digital media] is preferred.
  • Education: Degree or diploma in Film Production, Cinematography, Digital Media, or a related field is an advantage but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with camera equipment (e.g., ARRI, RED, Sony), lighting setups, and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
  • Creative Vision: Strong sense of visual storytelling, with the ability to conceptualize and execute compelling scenes and edits.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional eye for detail in both cinematography and editing. Ability to ensure consistency and quality throughout the production process.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with directors, producers, and other team members.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating strong cinematography and editing skills across various projects is required.

  • Work Environment: This role involves working both on location and in post-production environments. Flexibility in working hours and occasional travel may be required based on project needs.
