Roles & Responsibilities:
The Centre Coordinator for Senior Services plays a pivotal role in managing and coordinating various services aimed at enhancing the well-being of seniors within the community. This position is responsible for ensuring effective administration, community engagement, programme management, volunteer coordination, and the overall smooth operation of the centre. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors, strong organizational skills, and the ability to foster a supportive and inclusive environment.
Community Engagement & Active Ageing Outreach
- Conduct outreach to seniors and community partners to raise awareness, providing necessary training/education.
- Organize and support community engagement events.
- Respond to community issues and monitor senior care plans.
- Develop and maintain the database of community partners.
Programme Management & Senior Empowerment
- Organize and support active ageing programs.
- Empower seniors to lead and volunteer in activities.
Befriending & Support
- Provide emotional support and coordinate befriending services.
- Process referrals and monitor at-risk clients.
Volunteer Management
- Recruit, delegate duties and supervise volunteers.
- Maintain volunteer records and organize appreciation events.
Leadership
- Mentor team members, manage staff issues, and participate in performance appraisals.
Information & Referral Services
- Offer information, referrals, and care coordination for seniors.
- Regularly monitor clients and provide necessary support.
Administration, Documentation & Evaluation
- Maintain accurate client data and initiate and process referrals.
- Submit reports timely, according to standards.
- Participate in service evaluations and suggest improvements.
- Perform necessary administrative duties.
Candidate Profile:
- Diploma in Community Care and Social Service, Gerontology, or related fields.
- 1-3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in a SAC/AAC, or have volunteered with seniors in a community setting.
- Adept at engaging and communicating with seniors, understanding their needs, and providing appropriate support.
- Capable of conducting ground sensing to assess community-level needs and tailor services accordingly.
- Familiar with key community resources and partners, and the principles of the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach.
- Experienced in developing and implementing community work programmes.
- Strong ability to manage stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of community initiatives.
- Ability to lead and manage volunteers and staff, adapting management approaches to suit diverse backgrounds.
- Proficient in creating accurate and organized documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, and reports.
