IT Service Desk Onsite Support Engineer (Contract)

Job Summary

The Onsite Support Engineer provides high-quality technical support and maintenance directly at client locations. This role involves a variety of IT tasks, including troubleshooting, installation, configuration, and upkeep of hardware, software, and network systems. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving abilities, the capacity to work autonomously, and a strong dedication to customer service.

  • 1-year contract (Renewable)


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Offer onsite technical support for a broad spectrum of IT issues, including hardware, software, and networking.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems related to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, servers, and network equipment.
  • Use appropriate tools and techniques to conduct system diagnostics and identify root causes of issues.
  • Implement solutions promptly to minimize disruption to client operations.


Hardware and Software Management:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade various IT hardware, including desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Set up, configure, and update software applications and Windows operating systems.
  • Ensure software licensing and compliance regulations are adhered to.
  • Keep systems current with the latest patches, updates, and security measures before deployment.
  • Perform weekly maintenance on meeting rooms.


Client Communication and Relationship Management:

  • Effectively communicate with clients to understand their technical needs and provide suitable solutions.
  • Maintain a professional and positive client relationship, ensuring high satisfaction levels.
  • Provide training and guidance to clients on IT systems and applications.


What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows and MS Office Application Support.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency with remote support tools and diagnostic utilities.
  • Experience with stock and asset management.
  • Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) troubleshooting.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are preferred.
