School Operations Support Officer

Location: Yuhua Primary School, 158 Jurong East Street 24, Singapore 609558
Contract Period: November 1, 2024 - October 31, 2025
Option to Extend: November 1, 2025 - October 31, 2026 (at the Authority’s discretion)

Working Hours:

  • Mondays to Fridays: 6:00 am - 3:00 pm or 10:00 am - 7:00 pm (inclusive of half-hour lunch break)
  • Early Release: Half-hour early release one day within the week
  • Service Not Required: Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays

About the Role:

Yuhua Primary School is seeking a dedicated Operations Support Officer to oversee and ensure the cleanliness, security, and smooth operation of the school’s facilities. This role involves a combination of janitorial, security, and administrative responsibilities, essential for maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Ensure that classrooms, special rooms, and common areas are kept clean and orderly.
  • Perform tasks such as cleaning, tidying up, and coordinating with janitorial staff as needed.

Security Management:

  • Oversee the security of classrooms and common areas, including locking and unlocking doors and windows.
  • Operate and monitor the school’s security alarm system, arming it during non-operational hours and disarming it for authorized access.

Vigilance and Safety:

  • Maintain vigilance to identify strangers or suspicious individuals on school premises.
  • Direct and accompany visitors or contractors to the appropriate offices or locations within the school.

Traffic and Gate Management:

  • Manage the school gate and traffic flow during peak hours to ensure safety and avoid congestion.

Event Support:

  • Assist in logistics and arrangements for school events, including setting up classrooms, arranging equipment, and coordinating with event vendors.

Additional Duties:

  • Be flexible and take on other responsibilities as assigned by the School Leaders (SLs), Administration Manager (AM), and Operations Manager (OM).

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Minimum PSLE Certificate.

Experience and Skills:

  • Good team player with the ability to speak simple English.
  • Preferably with some experience working in schools.
  • Capable of handling physical duties such as moving tables and chairs.
