Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Engineer with 1-2 years of experience to join our team in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring a smooth operation of desktop and laptop environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level support for desktop, laptop, and peripheral issues, including hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and hardware components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to desktop and laptop environments, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users.
- Assist with the setup and deployment of new computers and devices, ensuring proper configuration and installation.
- Support end-users in using various software applications, including productivity tools, email clients, and remote access solutions.
- Manage and track all incidents and service requests through the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and closure.
- Collaborate with IT teams to escalate and resolve complex issues that require additional expertise.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Assist with software updates, patches, and antivirus management to ensure the security and stability of the desktop environment.
- Provide support for video conferencing systems, printers, and other office equipment.
- Participate in IT projects and initiatives as needed, contributing to the overall success of the IT department.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in a desktop support or IT support role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and remote desktop tools.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices is a plus.
