Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Governance Director to manage the company’s daily administrative affairs and play a key role in government relations. This executive will ensure best practices in corporate governance and compliance, while establishing and maintaining positive relationships with government bodies to effectively handle government-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Corporate Governance:
- Oversee the company's governance framework and practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Regularly review and update governance policies and procedures to adapt to changes in legal and business environments.
- Organize and preside over board meetings, prepare relevant documents and agendas, and ensure the implementation of board decisions.
- Administrative Management:
- Manage daily administrative operations, including office management, contract administration, and record-keeping.
- Supervise administrative support across departments to ensure efficient operations.
- Coordinate and manage internal communications to ensure departmental alignment and collaboration.
- Government Relations:
- Establish and maintain relationships with Singaporean government departments, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders.
- Represent the company in government meetings and industry association activities, ensuring the company’s voice is reflected in policy-making and regulatory processes.
- Monitor and analyze changes in government policies and regulations, assess their impact on the company, and provide recommendations and response strategies.
- Strategic Support:
- Support senior management in developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve organizational goals.
- Provide professional advice on governance and government affairs, helping to identify and manage risks.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Public Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience with extensive expertise in corporate governance and government relations.
- Experience in similar roles within large corporations or multinational companies is preferred.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with government officials and senior management.
- In-depth knowledge of Singaporean and international corporate governance and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinking capability to align governance and government affairs with overall company strategy.
