Sales Manager

Your main role will involve proactively initiating, developing, and overseeing the sales of artwork to clients continuously, with a focus on establishing and nurturing long-term relationships. Additionally, you will be responsible for building collections with your clients. You will also be involved in Art Handling & Logistics, overseeing all aspects related to art handling. This includes, but is not limited to, packing and unpacking artworks, conducting condition checks.


Sales and Client Relations:
1. Drive sales of artworks by identifying potential buyers, nurturing relationships with existing clients, and converting leads into sales.
2. Provide detailed information about artists, artworks, and exhibitions to clients and potential buyers.
3. Handle negotiations, sales agreements, and invoicing.
4. Maintain and grow a network of collectors, corporate clients, and art consultants.


Business Development:
1. Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
2. Identify new market opportunities and potential client segments.
3. Organise and participate in art fairs, exhibitions, and events to increase visibility and sales.
4. Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials and campaigns.


Inventory Management:
1. Oversee the management of the gallery’s inventory, ensuring that all artworks are cataloged and displayed correctly.
2. Keep accurate records of all sales, consignments, and loans.
3. Coordinate with artists and suppliers to acquire new artworks for the gallery.


Client Services:
1. Provide high-level customer service to ensure a positive experience for clients.
2. Arrange and conduct private viewings, consultations, and gallery tours.
3. Address any client queries or issues promptly and professionally.


Reporting and Administration:
1. Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for gallery management.
2. Manage budgets for sales-related activities.
3. Ensure compliance with legal requirements, including contracts, taxes, and 4. import/export regulations.
4. Monitor competitors and analyze their sales strategies.


Exhibition and Event Support:
1. Assist in the planning and execution of exhibitions and events, ensuring they meet sales objectives.
2. Work closely with curators to align exhibitions with sales strategies.


Skills and Qualifications:

-Proficiency in both Chinese and English, including professional written and spoken communication, is essential for this role.

-Strong sales and negotiation skills.
-Deep knowledge of the art market and art history.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals.
-Organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.

the requirement for a minimum of 3 years of working experience.

This role is essential for the commercial success of an art gallery and requires a blend of sales acumen, market knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills.
