The Data Remediation Specialist will be responsible for managing and remediating client and account static information in the bank’s core systems. The role involves correcting data anomalies, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline processes. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with sensitive client data while ensuring compliance with internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee client and account static data for all post-onboarding maintenance within the bank’s core systems.
- Conduct dedicated client data remediation, such as client contact information updates and marketing consent flags adjustments.
- Identify and resolve prioritized data quality issues raised by front office or other functions (e.g., dummy client identifier clean-up).
- Address client data anomalies immediately or through prioritized remediation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore automation opportunities for manual data remediation tasks.
- Utilize innovative tools and systems to detect and resolve data quality issues more efficiently.
- Investigate corrective actions required for client data discrepancies, including reviewing source documentation when needed.
- Execute corrective actions and propose system or process changes to prevent recurring data issues.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Client Data Steward to track data remediation efforts.
- Execute periodic test rules from the Data Detective Tool to detect and report client data anomalies.
- Ensure the appropriate and confidential handling of sensitive client data in accordance with internal policies.
- Escalate red flags and data issues according to established procedures.
- Ensure timely follow-up and escalation of issues to stakeholders as needed.
- Complete delegated and ad-hoc tasks within established timeframes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data remediation, data management, or a similar role in a financial services environment.
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with data quality management tools and processes.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Experience with automation tools and data management systems is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices for managing sensitive client data.
