Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the Project team to ensure staff and workers operate in a safe and healthy environment per the safety management system set up by the Safety Officer.
- Ensure compliance with the permit to work system on site and stop & report any incompatible works to the Safety Officer/Site Management.
- Act as the secretary of the Project WSH Committee, informing our staff and subcontractors about site safety activities and required actions.
- Aid the Site Team in adhering to the WSH Acts and Regulations.
- Conduct periodic safety inspections to verify compliance levels and improve safety standards.
- Ensure site compliance with statutory safety requirements and in-house rules, reporting deviations to the Safety Officer & Site Management for action.
- Assist the Safety Officer in implementing corrective measures for safety non-compliance and deviations to enhance site safety.
- Update site management on new or revised statutory safety requirements and take necessary actions.
- Support the Safety Officer in investigating accidents/incidents and recommend corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Assist the Safety Officer in liaising with MOM/NEA/PUB officers on safety, mosquito breeding, ECM, etc., and take necessary actions based on their comments.
- Support the Safety Officer in conducting safety training and organizing promotional activities.
- Ensure safety documentation is current and ready for MOM, NEA, or ISO Audits.
- Comply with ISO 9000, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 requirements.
- Evaluate risk assessments and manage/review Management Programmes.
- Handle all sub-contractor safety and health matters on-site.
- Support the Safety Officer in the site environment control Programme, ensuring staff and workers understand its intentions.
- Inspect the site to ensure all environmental health-related facilities and equipment are functional.
- Assist authorities in investigating outbreaks of infectious, vector-borne diseases.
- Support the Safety Officer in campaigns and organize training courses to promote good environmental health standards.
- Assist the Safety Officer in managing workers' courses, reporting sick, home leave, and accommodation.
- Aid in achieving the safety standards required by the site’s developer.
- Handle safety aspects of activities affecting public areas or areas used by the public.
