The National University Health System Virtual Care Centre (NUHS VCC) is an initiative where trained personnel provides tele-triage to patients and/or their caregivers. VCC will either provide advice and resolve the clinical question or escalate to the VCC clinician where appropriate. With the completion of Outram Community Hospital, SingHealth Community Hospitals (SCH) will have the largest pool of healthcare professionals in the Intermediate and Long Term Care (ILTC) sector. It is important that SCH has a good understanding on staff learning needs. Besides education delivered by its own faculty, SCH aims to contribute to the community by sharing skills and knowledge with colleagues in the ILTC sector, operationalised through the SCH Office of Learning (SCHOOL). The Assistant / Manager will set up and oversee planning & coordination of the operational, manpower and administrative matters of the Education Office. He/ She is expected to identify educational and training development opportunities within the Intermediate and Long Term Care (ILTC) sector - including reviewing landscape analysis of the ILTC education resources, needs, stakeholders and opportunities. He/ She will ensure the SCH Education Office plays a pivotal role within SingHealth (SingHealth Residency, Group Education, the Academic Medicine Education Institute (AM.EI), Regional Health Systems) and the community.

He/ She will also drive partnership development and administrative support in collaborations with local/ overseas institutions (e.g. developing MOUs, collaborative and clinical placement agreements, funding support, etc) – including Ministries and government agencies, Institutes of Higher Learning, and other ILTC partners on ILTC training matters. He/ She is also expected to lead in key educational initiatives such as curriculum development, conference programme development, and organisation and faculty development activities.

You will support the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Research & Education to oversee and implement the research programmes and initiatives of the National Dental Research Institute Singapore (NDRIS). Additionally, you will support the Academic Chair to oversee the academic initiatives under the Oral Health Academic Clinical Program (ORH ACP). You will be in-charge of managing research and academic support grants awarded to NDRIS and ORH ACP.

You will be responsible for research and academic strategic planning and implementation of the NDRIS’ and ORH ACP’s research and academic masterplans. You will be in charge of formulating and reviewing research and academic policies and procedures. You will be required to develop grant proposals and presentation decks for research and academic programmes and prepare cases for support to attract philanthropy funding. You will oversee the organisation of strategic initiatives, including planning strategic retreats, study trips and visits by key overseas delegations. You will facilitate partnerships with collaborators and industry players.

Requirements:

• PhD/ Masters in Science or other related field with minimum 10 years of relevant experience in research and academic administration
• At least 6 years of supervisory experience will be preferred
• Able to work independently and lead a team and function well in a team-based setting
• Possess good leadership, interpersonal, communication, organizational, time-management, analytical, presentation deck development and writing skills
