Hosted by NTU in partnership with NUS, SCELSE is linking new insights from the life sciences with expertise from the emerging technologies in engineering and natural sciences to understand, harness and control microbial biofilm communities and microbiomes.

The focus of this project is to develop scientific understanding and applications to secure the ecological resilience of coral reefs in the context of a tropical urban port environment. SCELSE is seeking a research fellow to identify bacteria and microbiomes that enhance coral health and resilience. The candidate should be a talented marine microbiologist with experience working with marine organisms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and sample resilient and sensitive corals by SCUBA diving in Singapore waters
• Using cultivation and molecular techniques to identify individual bacteria and microbiomes from resilient corals

Summary of Responsibilities

Responsible for leading and maintaining existing accounts and responding to ad-hoc research enquires from potential clients. Primary focus will be to help the Company innovate and deliver services in a unique way to stay ahead in the market.

Detailed Responsibilities:

· Account Management

o Manage existing accounts independently and provide guidance to junior team members. Demonstrate comfort in dealing with clients in understanding and delivering their needs.

The A*STAR's National Metrology Centre (NMC) is the national measurement institute of Singapore, dedicated to advancing measurement science for an innovative and competitive economy. Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate in the development of web applications for cognitive science research
• Engage closely with cognitive science researchers to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the research objectives and translate them into well-designed and implemented features
• Collaborate with the research team to evaluate and validate the tasks through user testing and data analysis
• Participate actively in code reviews, offering valuable feedback to ensure high code quality and adherence to best practices
• Identify and resolve application issues efficiently, utilizing debugging techniques and providing timely resolutions
• Conduct thorough testing to guarantee the performance, reliability, and security of the developed applications

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in app programming, with a solid understanding of Node.js
• Proficiency in using web servers, specifically Nginx, to deploy and manage applications
• Strong knowledge of database management systems, particularly MongoDB, for efficient data storage and retrieval
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Solid understanding of API development and integration
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and communicate effectively

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Research Interviewer is responsible for collecting data by conducting structured surveys over the telephone and entering the responses into computer systems. No marketing or selling is involved. The part-time research interviewers will be required to work on a four-hours shift between 5.30pm to 9.30pm, Monday to Friday.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum GCE ‘O’ levels
• Prior call center or telephone interviewing experience preferred
• Proficiency with computers and software
