This project will study and propose feasible solution to retrofit existing coastal protection structures. A Research Assistant position is available in the Single-Molecule Biophysics Lab at the Mechanobiology Institute. The Research Assistant will assist in the research of the team by contributing to building and maintaining magnetic tweezers instruments and training other group members to use them. He or she will also share the workload of single-molecule manipulation experiments. Primary responsibilities will include:

Qualifications

1. Minimal Bachelor’s degree, college background in Physics;

Purpose of the post

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Contribute to the ongoing development and organise BISI’s research programme to support its strategic direction and mission.

• Monitor research progress, and identify and implement project management interventions to keep research activities on track.

• Working knowledge in research ethics and HBRA is advantageous.

Data science is an important component of biomedical and translational research, where data of multiple modalities are being constantly generated at unprecedented scale. The Research Data Integration group in the Biomedical Datahub Division of the Bioinformatics Institute (BII), A*STAR, aims to bridge the complexity of computational biology and data science with the needs of biologists and clinicians to drive biological discoveries and predict translational outcomes. Job description

We are seeking a research officer to drive data management and analysis of large-scale biomedical multi-omics and clinical data. The candidate will be expected handle a number of tasks, including curate and QC incoming large-scale multi-omics data, implement and benchmark bioinformatics workflows, perform downstream analysis, develop file catalogues, databases, knowledge graphs and visualization of datasets, and implement international data standards to ensure data interoperability. The successful candidate will also extensively mine, analyze and curate publicly available resources and develop annotation tools and databases to link up with available datasets of different diseases, including cancer and metabolic diseases. The candidate will also manage and maintain all data in a database structure and develop a searchable web portal for researchers and clinicians.
