The Carney lab investigates the cell dynamics in the skeletal system and epithelia. Its analyses have implications for fundamental cell biology, evolution, genetics and clinical underpinnings of disease. Guided by issues facing the clinic, the lab has recently modelled diseases affecting skeletal system and has developed a model of bone necrosis.

We are currently recruiting a Research Associate to work on interrogating a zebrafish model of a clinical bone necrosis. Working closely with a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, the job will include molecular biology, animal husbandry, cloning, transgenesis and genotyping as well as imaging approaches. Research project: Connecting within-host viral dynamics with the epidemiology of COVID-19: a multiscale computational infrastructure

In this project, we aim to develop a multiscale modeling framework and computational infrastructure to connect within-host viral dynamics/antibody dynamics and between-host transmission dynamics. The multiscale model will help address key epidemiological and public health questions which could not be answered by classic (single scale) approaches. Specifically, we plan to develop and calibrate the multiscale model for SARS-CoV-2 and assess effect of intervention (e.g., antiviral treatment) on epidemiological dynamics.

This project is led by Keisuke Ejima, an Assistant Professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University.

The Research Fellow primarily leads the project under supervision of PI in the areas of collecting clean data, reviewing literatures, lead model development, lead data analyses, leading the manuscript writing and other areas of the project support.

In this project, we aim to develop a multiscale modeling framework and computational infrastructure to connect within-host viral dynamics/antibody dynamics and between-host transmission dynamics. The multiscale model will help address key epidemiological and public health questions which could not be answered by classic (single scale) approaches. Specifically, we plan to develop and calibrate the multiscale model for SARS-CoV-2 and assess effect of intervention (e.g., antiviral treatment) on epidemiological dynamics.

This project is led by Keisuke Ejima, an Assistant Professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University.

The Research Fellow primarily leads the project under supervision of PI in the areas of collecting clean data, reviewing literatures, lead model development, lead data analyses, leading the manuscript writing and other areas of the project support.

Candidates should have a Master degree in a quantitative field, such as data science, computational biology, mathematics, computer science, (bio)statistics, or related field. Research experience and/or educational background on public health and medicine is a plus but not essential. Computational experience on R and MONOLIX is preferred. Good communication skill and respectful attitude for teamwork. The successful applicant will work as part of a growing and energetic team, focusing on quantitatively understanding biological mechanisms of infection and its impact on both individual and population health.

The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to develop/produce/investigate obfuscation algorithms that will take advantage of quantum primitives. The techniques developed will aid in obfuscating quantum programs, quantum-classical hybrid programs and classical programs. Candidate should have good understanding of reverse engineering techniques, assembly language concepts and instructions and python programming. Candidate should have some understanding of quantum computing and cyber security. Prior experience in implementing quantum obfuscation techniques is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
• Undertake these responsibilities in the project:

1. Design quantum obfuscation techniques for data and code obfuscation
2. Implement the designed algorithms and integrate into an existing quantum obfuscation platform.

• Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.
• Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.
• Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.

Job Requirements:

• Have relevant competence in the areas of programming, reverse engineering and low level languages.
• Have a B-Engg or B-Tech degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security or Electronics and Communication Engineering from a reputable University. Possessing a Master’s or PhD degree will be advantageous.

The Department of Diagnostic Imaging (DDI) is the clinical service department in the National University Hospital (NUH). With the formation of the National University Health System (NUHS), both clinical and academic departments come under a common governing structure. NUHS was incorporated on 23 January 2008 to integrate education, research and clinical care.

Purpose of the post

The PI lab aims to develop in vitro diagnostics, in vivo imaging and nanobiotechnology with emphasis on molecular imaging tools and drug and gene delivery techniques. The Visiting Fellows will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and the team members to undertake independent and/or collaborative research and to lead on aspects of research strategy within the lab.

The Research Fellow will be able to:
