The successful candidate will work with Prof Barbaros Oezyilmaz on fabricating and characterizing twisted bilayer graphene (tBLG) using large-scale chemical vapor deposition (CVD) techniques under a project on Large-area 2D materials transfer and applications.

The discovery of twistronics, a potential Nobel Prize contender, could revolutionize advanced device concepts like topological quantum computing and single-photon detectors. However, the current low-yield "pick-up" method limits device fabrication to micron-sized graphene sheets, restricting the creation of larger arrays needed for functional quantum sensors and circuits.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join our research team in the Materials Science/Physics Department at the National University of Singapore. The candidate will work on fabricating and characterizing twisted bilayer graphene (tBLG) using large-scale CVD techniques, aiming to revolutionize the production of high-quality, defect-free graphene films for advanced optoelectronic devices like single-photon detectors.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

1. Develop and refine single-layer dry transfer techniques to achieve defect- and residue-free graphene sheets.

The Climate Transformation Programme (CTP) aims to develop, inspire and accelerate knowledge-based solutions and educate future leaders to establish the stable climate and environment necessary for resilient, just, and sustainable Southeast Asian societies.

CTP will generate knowledge and innovation across disciplines including climate and Earth science, ecology, materials science, artificial intelligence, humanities, social sciences and the arts, finance, health, and engineering. Project Information: The main objective of this project is to synthesize work on interventions that have been designed to level-up students who face difficulties in literacy, numeracy, and well-being from Primary to Secondary levels, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds or with special needs. By means of a PRISMA framework, we will conduct a systematic literature search and screening to identify eligible articles for each topic. A preliminary literature search will be conducted to estimate the amount of literature on each topic. As approach to synthesize the literature, we will use an umbrella review for each topic, i.e., focusing on meta-synthesis, synthesis, and review literature. The findings will allow the identification of effective interventions for each topic in facing challenges throughout the students’ school period.
