DesCartes Program (work package 9) is looking for research assistant in UI/UX design and library development. The objective is to develop a user interface and implement libraries as required for the DesCartes Builder, a novel open-source framework for designing, validating, and integrating innovative hybrid AI models and methodologies.

DESCARTES PROGRAM

The DesCartes programme is developing a hybrid AI, combining Learning, Knowledge and Reasoning, which has good properties (need for less resources and data, security, robustness, fairness, respect for privacy, ethics), and demonstrated on industrial applications of the smart city (digital energy, monitoring of structures, air traffic control).

The program brings together 80 permanent researchers (half from France, half from Singapore), with the support of large industrial groups (Thales SG, EDF SG, ESI group, CETIM Matcor, ARIA etc.).

The Role

SIA-NUS Digital Aviation Lab at the National University of Singapore (NUS) offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Research Engineer in Work Package 4. Job Description & Requirements

As a Learning Designer, you will be responsible for working hand in hand with the subject matter experts (SMEs), project manager, graphic animators, and programmers to create interactive storyboards and e-learning content for our high-profile clients.

This is a role for a creative individual with excellent aesthetic judgement and willingness to collaborate within a team environment. You will be an integral part of every stage in the creative process, from conceptualization to client amendments.

• Develop e-learning content that matches with the SMEs’ objectives and requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reports to the Associate Director and assists on pedagogy matters and technical expertise to support instructors who are converting their courses to blended format.
• Supports the Associate Director on the strategic directions and mapping out of BL implementation framework and strategies, in consultation with the Director CTE, to advance SMUs differentiation in the learning environment.
• Will be assigned projects and will front consultation and professional services on BL projects with instructors to ensure that the solutions developed are in accordance with sound learning design principles and correspond to the learning needs and outcomes.
• Review facultys existing content materials, conduct needs assessment with faculty-lead, and make decisions on what to, and how to re-develop these contents and translate them into learning objects that meet standards and guidelines set by international bodies.
• Identify appropriate solution(s) for the course, including determining the proper blend of instructor-led, hands-on, and web-based training to be used in a given solution.
• Manage vendors to ensure rigor and standard of elearning materials (technical and pedagogical).
• Evaluate e-learning materials and analyse students feedback to improve learning and/or develop additional materials.
• Team up with in-house and external designers and developers as an integral part of the build process.

• Degree in Education/ Learning Design or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience, of which at least 3 years experience in designing and developing online and blended learning solutions required. These solutions may be a variety of instructional media, including face-to-face, synchronous and asynchronous online learning technologies, self-paced online learning, multimedia etc.
• Strong knowledge and experience in the implementation and management of online, blended learning (preferably in undergraduate and postgraduate courses or programmes of an institute of higher learning) and MOOCs will be an advantage.
• Sound knowledge and experience in applying contemporary and emerging principles of learning/instructional design to online and blended learning, including all phases of the Instructional System Design (ISD) process or Analyse, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE) model.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Research Engineer to join our team and contribute to our ongoing research projects related to IC design.

Responsibilities:

• Explore heterogeneous systems with silicon chips being integrated on unconventional substrates such as flexible and stretchable, for ultra-low power always-on and intelligent silicon platforms.

• Work on innovative circuit techniques with very wide power-performance scaling to minimize the system energy while providing targeted levels of performance on demand. Such techniques will be investigated for digital sub-systems in advanced technologies.

• Be responsible to conduct research at the circuit level, defining and validating design options and defining new integrated circuit techniques.

Job Summary

As the Learning designer, the job holder is responsible for design and develop eLearning lessons, which include courseware design and training content creation.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Review and develop curriculum design incorporating technology and relevant learning pedagogies.

EDUCATION

Degree in any discipline. Preference is given to degree in instructional design, education, psychology, instructional technology or related qualifications.
