The Waste Management Division (WMD) is responsible for the regulation of the waste collection industry, the Public Waste Collection scheme, general waste disposal facilities, the Extended Producer Responsibility and Mandatory Waste Reporting schemes. The Producer Responsibility Department (PRD) oversees the development, administration and regulation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Schemes for waste streams such as E-waste and packaging waste, as well as the Mandatory Packaging Reporting (MPR) framework. It is responsible for the licensing of the Producer Responsibility Scheme (PRS) Operator and the regulation of recycling facilities under the EPR schemes.
