Role Description

The Engineering Delivery Management (EDM) role is focused on technical management of all engineering activities. They provide direction, guidance, expert advice, mentoring, support, audit, and workflow management (tasking prioritisation and resource coordination) in support of achieving project objectives and milestones in accordance with the approved schedule. The responsibility of this position is to drive and manage the Keppel submarine cable infrastructure projects which includes the following activities.

• Work with the Joint build partners, customers and internal business/commercial teams and plan for new subsea cable projects through diverse, secure and practical routes that meet all stakeholders needs and where there is a customer demand.
• Convert the business requirements into detailed engineering specifications by evaluating the industry trends, proven state of art technology, cost optimization, future proofing, optimum fiber pair count, etc.
• To evaluate the optimum cable route through desktop study by engaging with relevant vendors, drive Invitation to Tender process by capturing the Cable owners/Joint Build Partners’ requirements, evaluation of bids, adjudication and selection of vendors by forming various metrics of evaluation.
• Development and finalization of supply contract with the subsea cable vendors by close coordination with the Joint build partners, internal legal team and various stakeholders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Engineering Manager reports to the Project Director and shall be responsible for the effective design effort and coordination of the Sub-Contractor's discipline engineering professionals. The Engineering Manager shall ensure that all designs comply with the requirements of the Work; that all Work is efficiently and effectively executed in accordance with the criteria, specifications and standards listed in the CONTRACT; and that the designs comply with safe and reasonable standards as accepted within the offshore oil and gas industry. The Engineering Manager shall be responsible for his/her scope of work as given below:

• Planning and scheduling the engineering execution work for the FPSO to meet the overall project schedule including what is required to be subcontracted and /or included in supplier’s scope.
• Ensure compliance to all codes and standards including regulatory requirement while the design and engineering is performed to ensure that project acceptance is not jeopardized due to errors and omissions in this respect.
• Ensuring that all engineering designs & drafting works, preparation of MTO's/BOM's and preparation of As Built drawings are carried out in accordance with the Project HSE and Quality policy.
• Planning and ensuring that suitably qualified and experienced engineering and drafting personnel are available in various engineering disciplines.

Your Profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in developing and deploying ML applications
• Broad and deep understanding of the state of ML evolution and its deployment to solve real-world problems
• Track record of delivering scalable ML services in production
• Good breadth of experience in fields of NLP, computer vision, recommendation systems, reinforcement learning and time series
• Good exposure to CI/CD on ML, containerization and infrastructure-as-code, model and data versioning concepts
• Good exposure to cloud services and products e.g., AWS, Azure and GCP
• Good exposure to automation of data pipelines, data labelling, versioning, and exploration
• Good exposure to model deployment, canary releases, and implementation of CI/CD on cloud

Position Summary:

The Technical Project Manager, or known as Engineering Delivery Manager within Thales, is responsible for leading his team to the completion of engineering tasks within committed budgets, schedules, quality and performance for successful bids and projects delivery. He coordinates and monitors the implementation of all engineering tasks throughout the whole life cycle of a bid/project.

Responsibilities:

· Ensure engineering activities are well managed within constraints of bids/projects, approved architecture, design policy, contracts, and company quality requirements.

· Lead collaborative discussion and co-engineering between internal teams, vendors and customers to analyse, prioritise and validate stakeholders' requirements.

· Ensure that engineering scope, plans and activities satisfy customer requirements, and are delivered on time, on budget and with the required quality.

· Work closely with Design Authority to oversee and approve the outcome of evaluation studies on design alternatives, and to provide advice to both the customer and internal technical teams.

· Through broad consultation, ensure the production of the required documentation in support of the project, to the satisfaction of the customer and internal senior management.

· Liaise with customers on technical, architectural and procedural issues as required, ensure that scope creep is avoided.

· Define the engineering work breakdown structure, project organisation structure, tasks schedule, engineering KPIs, and associated engineering tasks. Tailor as required and ensure all baseline requirements are met.

· Define the strategy for development, build increments, validation, and project commissioning.

· Follow up closely on defined KPIs and ensure issues discovered (such as risks of changes, schedule, anomalies, etc) are addressed promptly according to different project phases.

· Perform periodic reporting to internal senior management and customer according to Thales methodology (Chorus) and common methods such as SAFe/SCRUM.

· Ensure the implementation of multi-project synergies and lessons learnt, in order to optimize cost of technical solutions.

· Manage engineering risks & opportunities during bids and project phase, guarantees programme commitments, including those flown down to subcontractors and partners.

· Optimise technical work against costs, schedule and risks from design to validation and acceptance of the solution.

· Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed, in conjunction with the functional Engineering Head or Director.

· Manages Work Package Managers (WPM) and Integration Verification, Validation and Qualification (IVVQ) Manager to ensure successful completion of respective milestones.

· Other duties as directed by the Project Manager or functional Engineering Head.

Essential Requirements:

· Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or related discipline

· Experience working within a Systems Engineering lifecycle

· Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Senior Engineering role

· Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams

· Experience in IT/security/C2/defence relatedprojects from a Systems Engineering perspective

· Good knowledge on how large projects are managed

· Strong oral and written communications skills

· Strong liaison and stakeholders management skills

· Strong motivation to be involved in all phases of a project life cycle, from bids to project completion

Desirable Requirements:

· Membership of relevant professional organisation, e.g. INCOSE, Institution of Engineers, etc.

This role is based out of our Singapore HQ, where we work in a hybrid (onsite and remote) model.

Role Summary:

As a Pre-Sales Engineer, your responsibilities include understanding client needs, designing robust scalable solutions, and delivering compelling proposals. You'll need a solid grasp of enterprise software and cloud technologies, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your role involves presenting to diverse audiences, from lower-level influencers to high-level decision-makers, adjusting technical depth to suit each audience's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pre-sales technical expertise through product presentations, demonstrations, and ongoing consultation.
• Drive adoption of our solutions within strategic accounts, translating technical features into value drivers.
• Develop and deliver materials to improve product knowledge among the sales teams and partners. Maintain up-to-date knowledge about our solution and competitor landscape to help craft effective sales strategies.
• Act as a reference point during pre-sales activities, showcasing in-depth technical & functional knowledge of our solutions.
• Respond to product inquiries and liaise with the solution & engineering teams as required.

1) Product Pre-Sales Consulting:

• Provide technical & functional direction and consulting to prospects and/or partners as part of the pre-sales process.
• Apply standardized approaches to contribute to commercial proposals.
• Maintain a broad understanding of the market to identify additional opportunities.

2) Product Demonstrations:

• Ensure out-of-the-box demonstration environments are available and tailored to client needs.
• Establish demo datasets and scripts for efficient responses to client inquiries.
• Innovate by creating advanced demonstration sets tailored to unique client requirements.

3) Product Innovation and Continued Expertise:

• Develop a learning path to deepen expertise in solution functionalities.
• Contribute to innovation efforts by understanding market trends and competition.
• Act as a liaison between sales and product teams for continual product improvement.

4) Product Bid Response Efforts:

• Lead RFP/RFI response efforts, collaborating on technical & functional responses and commercial proposals.
• Provide recommendations for proposal improvements and bid management strategies.
• Attend sales debriefs to provide feedback on the sales cycle and client engagement.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of solution engineering or pre-sales experience in SaaS/enterprise software sales.
• Proficiency in server-side technologies, data management as well as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Strong understanding of SaaS/enterprise software technical aspects, including integration, security and scalability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel (<25%).
