Purpose and Scope

The Reliability Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance, availability, and lifespan of assets. The purpose of this role is to develop and implement strategies to improve reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance asset performance. The Reliability Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to analyze data, identify failure modes, and implement proactive maintenance practices.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Conducting Reliability Analysis: Perform data analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and root cause analysis to identify potential failures, their impact, and underlying causes.
• Developing Maintenance Strategies: Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop and implement preventive maintenance plans, condition-based monitoring programs, and reliability-cantered maintenance (RCM) strategies.
• Implementing Asset Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) to assess asset reliability and measure improvements.
• Driving Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor asset performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop and implement reliability improvement initiatives.
• Providing Technical Expertise: Offer technical guidance and support to maintenance teams, operators, and other stakeholders in optimizing asset reliability and performance.
• Collaborating with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure alignment and coordination in achieving reliability goals.

• Data Quality and Availability: Dealing with data challenges, such as inconsistent or incomplete data, and establishing robust data collection processes.

• Technical Complexity: Managing the complexity of diverse assets and their unique failure modes, requiring deep technical knowledge and expertise

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.).
• Proven experience (3-5 years) in reliability engineering or a similar role in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of reliability methodologies, including FMEA, RCM, and condition-based maintenance.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and best practices.

Requirements:

• Strong background in biocatalysis, protein engineering, chemistry, molecular biology and/or biotechnology
• More than 2 years of post-PhD experience preferred
• In depth experience with PCR, protein expression, and/or analytical techniques such as biochemical assays, spectroscopy and chromatography
• Adaptable to team-oriented goals and requirements

Responsibilities

- Commissioning of AGV at customer sites which includes on-site user acceptance tests

- Ensure the performance and reliability of xSQUARE’s fleet of AGVs, network and customer site infrastructure.

- Provide high level troubleshooting to resolve issues that are beyond the capabilities of our first level support services from field technicians.

- Monitor the health and operations of the xSQUARE’s fleet of AGVs and proactively engage to resolve faults before they impact customer operations.

- Respond and provide technical guidance to customers regarding operational issues, software updates and general maintenance.

- Maintain up-to-date records of AGV and site configurations. This includes software and hardware configurations

- Communicate and collaborate with our global engineering teams

- Contribute to the development of instrumentation and automation for monitoring, detection, and self-healing of failures.

- Contribute to the creation of user manuals, customer guides, FAQs, application notes and best practices.

- Contribute to the design and creation of AGV missions using xSQUARE’s proprietary mission description language.

- Provide on pre-sales technical assessments

- Infrastructure includes reflective markers and networking equipment.

- Participate in Proof of Concept (demonstrations) with demo AGVs

- Ensure strong relationships with all customer representatives

Requirements

- Bachelor’s or Diploma with experience in a technical field (including EE, ME, CS, Robotics)

- 3 years of relevant (customer facing) experience

- Must be able to focus and drive issues to closure in a fast-paced, agile environment.

- Experience with Linux (ideally Ubuntu) administration, tools and Bash/Python scripting.

- Willingness to troubleshoot electro-mechanical components.

Key Responsibilities:

· To champion and liaise with production personnel on the investigation of root cause(s) of non-conformance and procedural failures

· To ensure that corrective actions are in place and implemented for all non-conformances detected during audits, internal rejects, supplier rejects & customer complaints

· Writing or amending quality / HSE Operating Procedures & Work Instructions as required

· Writing Quality Control plans & Inspection Test Plan (ITP) as per contractual requirements, APIand licensors’ requirements

· To update and maintain all the technical specification, quality manuals, procedures, work instructions and documents

· To review and approve required specifications and revisions in documentation prior releasing for production or customer

· To review and approve process routers prior to releasing for production

· To prepare, review & approve Quality Documentations such as drawings, first piece, in-process & final inspection reports prior to product release to customers

· To prepare monthly quality & HSE non-conformance analysis and KPI report

· To champion & attend to customer, API, connection licensor audit and conformance

· To conduct process audit and internal quality scheduled/unscheduled audit

· To conduct audit, process inspection on sub-contract suppliers and maintenance of Approved Vendor List (AVL)

· Responsible for ensuring work is carried out in accordance with documented procedures

· Actively participate and involve in appropriate development of HSE matters in areas of hazard / incident identifications, risk assessments and determination of controls

· To participate in scheduled/unscheduled safety walks & liaison all HSE matters with safety officer till completion

· Ensure work activities and behavior achieved conformity to the HSE policy, objectives and procedures outlined in the HSE management system and compliance to applicable local legal requirements

· To actively champion, participate & prepare all documentations on all New Product Introduction (NPI) projects
