5. Manage design activities to ensure the drawings are completed and approved in time for fabrication
6. Prepare materials takeoff and optimization
7. Work with Procurement Department for materials procurement
8. Check and ensure the quality of all drawings and designs
9. Participate in the development of proposals, pricing and presentations for design work
10. Manage and implement design schedule and forecasts
11. Assign design resources based on project type, complexity and timelines
12. Ensure proper record keeping and version control for all drawings, cutting lists etc in accordance with ISO procedures.
13. Manage, supervise and train members of the department
14. Source for and manage external drafters as necessary.
