The Financial Crime (FC) Function is a Second line of defence (LOD) function that includes ”Risk Stewards” who are independent of the commercial risk-taking activities undertaken by the Group’s businesses (also referred to as “the First LOD” or “FLOD”). The FC Function also operates a set of critical controls on behalf of the FLOD by harnessing intelligence, analytics, technology, detection and investigation. The Risk Stewards are responsible for reviewing and challenging all the activities of the FLOD to ensure that, as “Risk Owners”, they effectively manage the FC risk inherent in, or arising from, the conduct of their activities and for which they are responsible. FC risk is a non-financial risk that includes fraud, money laundering, bribery and corruption, sanctions violations, terrorist financing, proliferation financing, export control violations and tax evasion. The FC function operates in accordance with HSBC Group’s Risk Management Framework (RMF).

The Global Private Banking & Wealth (GPB&W) Financial Crime Oversight Team provide oversight and challenge of GPB relationships with particular focus on SCC and High Risk relationships and booking centres/themes identified for increased oversight, to ensure that globally these relationships are appropriately reviewed, and we exercise our full suite of financial crime controls and critical thinking, to prevent our products and services from being used for financial crime. The Senior Manager, Financial Crime Oversight, Global Private Banking & Wealth (GPB&W) is positioned in the GPB&W Financial Crime Risk Stewardship Team. They are required to review HR/SCC relationships being onboarded into GPB and a sample of existing client relationships, to ensure that enhanced customer due diligence has been carried out effectively and that financial crime risks are appropriately identified, mitigated and controlled. Enhanced due diligence includes source of wealth, source of funds, purpose of account, assessment of negative news and any indicators of financial crime. The role holder will also provide advice and guidance to local financial crime teams on complex cases, risk appetite and intelligence sought through external vendors. The role is a key risk management role with a targeted remit and responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Reviews and challenges GPB onboarding of high risk and SCC relationships across GPB booking centres globally

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assistant Finance Manager

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of monthly and year-end management reports and analysis by reviewing submissions from subordinates;
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities; ensure that all is submitted timely.
• Strong in analysis of financial numbers; and to highlight any discrepancies or issues;
• Strong relevant accounting knowledge and updates of relevant Accounting Standards and company policy to ensure books are maintained in compliance and order;
• Providing support with various reporting including GST, treasury, investment returns, etc.
• Providing commentaries on operational performance and support operational planning, operations, and implementation of financial and internal controls
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the implementation of best practices; and this may include review of policies and continual process re-engineering.
• Assist and support projects/group tasks/duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy or any professional qualifications (ACCA/CA)
• At least 5 years of financial accounting/reporting/finance operations experience
• System knowledge in Sap B1 or other ERP, proficient with excel.
• Ethical, reliable, independent, meticulous, hands on, responsible and goals driven.
• Must be hands on also to do accounting work if needed (eg posting of JEs, etc)
• Possess clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to work in teams
• Ability to adapt and open to work requirement in a fast-paced environment
• Have positive "can do" attitude when faced with challenges
• Meticulous and able to work independently
• Comfortable to work with various stakeholders

SENIOR FINANCE EXECUTIVE

The Job :

Accounts Receivables

• Oversee and/or perform bank reconciliations on all AR collections.
• Generate AR aging as at month end or on adhoc as required.
• Work with respective operation teams to follow up on aged AR.

Accounts Payable

• Process accounts payable invoices and interco billing, matching and verifying with purchase orders, delivery orders/goods/services receipts.
• Capitalise all assets purchases and ensure depreciation is correctly captured.
• Raise interco fund transfers.
• Generate regular and ad-hoc payment proposals to vendors, ensuring invoices are approved in line with Group policies and processes.
• Oversee and/or perform bank reconciliation on AP payments.
• Oversee and/or perform recording of account payables, petty cash and staff expenses claims accurately.
• Investigate and resolve invoice/GRIR discrepancies.
• Handling and resolving internal and external vendors’ inquiries and issues.

General Ledger

• Ensure all accruals and prepayments are accounted for as at every month end.
• Check and ensure all asset, AR and AP sub-ledgers agree to GL.
• Ensure GST recognition is in compliance with IRAS e-Tax Guide.
• Adhoc job as and when requested.

The Candidate :

• Diploma or professional qualification in Accountancy, Finance or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience in finance/accounting role
