Data Center Engineer

We are currently looking for a Data Center Engineer to analyse and report on Data Center governance, risk, and compliance.

Responsibilities:
- Properly record and file Global Policies and Procedures received for Asia Pacific Regions.
- Monitor Active Data Center Controls, maintaining the governance frameworks, policies, and procedures for data center operations in alignment with the bank’s standards and regulatory requirements.
- Providing regular checks based on the Data Center controls set, ensuring compliance with the internal policies and regulatory requirements applicable to Data Center Operations.
- Maintain and manage the tracking system for monitoring active Data Center controls to ensure timely completion set by the Operations teams and Management.
- Creation of Process Evaluation tools for reporting, adherence to procedures and SLAs for equipment placement (ITSM), equipment disposal, and accuracy of the bank's equipment system of record (Nlyte)

Requirements:
- Proven experience in working as a data center engineer in a large skill enterprise.
- Good understanding of data center technologies as well as network and computing technologies
- Familiar with data center management tools and software

Your team

You will be working for Application Support & Reliability AM in London, United Kingdom. We are aligned to the Asset Management (AM) business and are responsible for providing production support in a 24x7 follow-the-sun model, utilizing hubs in Singapore, India, Poland and the US. In this role you are part of a high-performance team of Site Reliability Engineers with wide expertise on monitoring agents and platforms. You will work with committed, quality driven and very technical people understanding the monitoring area, all the tools interacting with it and the needs of our clients.

Your expertise

• ideally 8+ years of hands-on experience with support background across multiple operating systems
• knowledge of diverse technology solutions and services (networks, operating systems, infrastructure components, applications)
• understanding of Microsoft Azure or related Cloud technologies, DevOps, Orchestration and automation (Automation Anywhere, IPcenter)

Job Description:

• Assist project or team leads in evaluating and recommending the appropriate IT infrastructure products (commercial or open source) that will meet project or customer requirements
• Take charge or support the deployment of said products, including integration and testing activities at the System-as-a-whole level
• Work with engineers from other disciplines (e.g. software, cybersecurity, integration) in the delivery of turn-key systems or proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives
• Monitor the health of infrastructure services and perform availability management for servers and its services, and assist in the resolution of operational issues

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines
• At least three years of relevant IT experience in designing (not mandatory), deploying and managing IT infrastructure systems.

Required knowledge and experience

• Required knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2k16/2k19, Linux, VMware/Hyper-V virtualization, and Azure Cloud
• Knowledge of infrastructure best practices, system technologies, operation processes and system engineering methodologies
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity technologies will be desirable
• Technical certification in cloud and system technologies, such as CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VCP (VMware), VMCE (Veeam), CEH etc. will be advantageous

Summary:

This role is to ensure that industry best practices and methodologies are applied to the design, deployment, and operations of core routers & switches and data center networks. This individual provides technical guidance and leadership to the customer and project engineering team and ensures project timelines are being met. They will be the technical point of contact for the customer and provide design, migration, and deployment guidance.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the delivery of network planning, design, implementation & optimization services as a Network Consultant to our clients.
• Identifying and resolving operational issues so that SLAs are adhered to.
• Lead the delivery of network solutions including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network hardware appliances.
• Carrying out maintenance tasks and network changes supporting network project requirements.
