We are in search of an adept and driven Technical Project Manager responsible for overseeing research projects aimed at tackling problem statements within the food, nutrition and consumer care industry and ecosystem. This role encompasses project timeline management, resource allocation, and ensuring successful project outcomes in alignment with SIFIB?s overarching research strategy and focus areas. Job Description
· Project Planning: Develop project plan, define scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in alignment with research problem statement.
· Project Execution: Oversee different workstreams across the project, ensuring adherence to timelines, milestones, overall project objective and budget. Routinely review the progress of the project with the internal scientific team and industry or academic collaborators.
· Cross-functional coordination: Manage and coordinate the project team consisting of the lead principal investigator/technical lead and research officers. Coach scientists on translating research findings to industry needs. Maintain close communication with:
I. Business Development team to ensure relevance to industry needs
II. Corporate strategy team to maintain project relevance to SIFBI?s research focus areas
III. Resource Management team for optimal budget utilization
· Project strategy: Comprehend the project technicalities to formulate the IP strategy, application opportunities and commercialization strategy collaboratively with the scientific team. Innovate concepts and identify opportunities to transfer the platform technology to industry or the ecosystem; present these ideas to potential industry partners.
· Risk management: Conduct project risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies to minimise potential project disruptions or deviations. Exercise judgement to escalate risks when necessary.
· Stakeholder management: Routinely engage stakeholders to gather project requirements, set expectations and provide regular updates on project progress, milestones and deliverables.
· Project reporting and maintenance of project documents: Prepare and maintain routine project documents (e.g. project charter, project management plan) and reports on project status, budget, updates with collaborators and risks.
· Keep abreast of consumer trends within the industry as well as recent scientific advancements in the discipline to remain pertinent to the field
Job Requirements
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Food Science, Nutrition, Chemical engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioengineering or a medical or healthcare-related field).
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in the R&D sector of the food, nutrition, and/or consumer care industry, with a preference for candidates with project management experience.
· Proficient in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and devising/implementing project plans.
· Collaborative team player showcasing strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in cross-functional teams.
· An adaptable individual with the ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment, adjusting plans and strategies as needed.
· Candidates with PMP training would be considered advantageous.
