The Security Officer is able to handle safety and security issues in the day-to-day operations. He/she must protect company’s assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues. He/she is also responsible for the security, safety and well-being of guests, employees and premises.
Primary Responsibilities
Manages the Control Room and daily routine assignments by Security Manager (SM)
· Visitors/Guests/Contractors Management. Verifies the ID of all visitors, guests and contractors of their visit and issue pass before entry
· Key Management – To record and issue departmental keys to the colleagues after verification. To acknowledge and record when the keys are returned
· To report and document all incidents in the Security Management Occurrence log
· Handles telephone enquiries in a professionally manner
· To record and take pictures of all Lost and Found Items surrenderred by colleagues or guests in the lost & found form and handover to Housekeeping
· To assist in evacuation
· To assist in managing the Electronic Parking System for the Carpark, including printing the Daily Revenue Report and Settlement Report daily.
Carries out static duties
· Front Office – To ensure a peaceful environment, greet guest coming / going out of the hotel, to report and take action where required
· Main Driveway: ensure orderly traffic flow, advice drivers of unauthorized parking to park at designated car park and to report and take action if there is disturbance.
· To conduct checks on unauthorised parking, advise driver to park at designated car parks, to report and take action if there is disturbance.
· Loading Bay: ensure only authorised vehicles are allowed to park in the loading bay.
− To ensure smooth traffic movements in the loading bay.
− To ensure the vehicles are parked in an assigned parking lot.
− To ensure no obstruction cause to other vehicles using the loading bay.
− To verify the identities of all contractors/workers using the loading bay.
· To respond to any emergencies within 3 minutes or less.
Patrols hotel grounds and building
· Hotel patrolling for crime prevention and report of any incidents, disputes disturbances or properties left unattended.
· Perimeter patrolling to ensure that the hotel`s exterior walls are not vandalised or damaged, ensure street lamps are in working condition.
· To respond to any emergencies within 3 minutes or less.
