The opportunity
EY’s Economics Advisory Practice solves problems in policy, strategy, international development and commercial decision-making by applying economics thinking, frameworks, and specialized analytical tools. We work closely with a range of government and private sector clients to address their most pressing strategic and regulatory challenges. Our Economics Advisory team is going through an exciting period of growth, and we are looking for outstanding economic consultants to join our team in Singapore.
As a Senior Associate, you will play a leading role on our engagement teams, providing robust and high-quality analysis to support the successful delivery of projects that tackle the most prominent development, policy, and business concerns.
Main responsibilities
· Lead specific workstreams and provide guidance to junior members of the team
· Quickly develop economic and consulting toolkits including problem solving, modelling, data analytics, primary research, report writing, and effective synthesis
· Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to analyze economic trends, market dynamics, and industry developments. Lead the preparation of economic reports, feasibility studies, and impact assessments
· Develop and maintain economic models and databases
· Stay abreast of latest economic research, methodologies, and industry advancements
· Participate actively in professional development opportunities and leverage internal resources to enhance your skill set
· Support senior executives in business development activities such as contributing to proposal development
What we are looking for
· Degree in economics (minimum 2:1) from a reputable university with a strong academic track record. Master's degree is a plus
· 3-6 years of working experience, preferably in a consulting / client facing environment
· Possesses independence and excellent problem-solving abilities
· Strong knowledge of econometric techniques, economic modelling, statistical analysis tools, and financial modeling
· Strong ability to draw out relevant insights from the analysis and present them through compelling narratives
· Well versed in economic topics including but not limited to country growth prospects, labour market dynamics, government policies, and international and economic development
· Strong numerical, writing, and communication skills
· Demonstrate a sense of ownership and accountability for projects and client deliverables. Take responsibility for the quality and timely completion of assigned tasks, ensuring that they meet or exceed client expectations
· Intellectual curiosity, driven, and exhibit willingness to learn and work collaboratively
