About The Role

The incumbent will be working in the Diphenyl Carbonate (DPC-500 tons/annum) Demo unit at Shell Jurong Island.

Principal Accountabilities

Our client is a world’s largest petrochemical manufacturers. The company needs two Process Operation Technician for the manufacturing of products and sustain safe operation at plant.

The role of the Process Operation Technician includes:

• Operate the process to meet the conditions specified in manuals/instructions.
• Adherence to the established company core values, operations and safety policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and take corrective action to ensure operating parameters are within Standard Operating Condition for the production of quality products.
• Perform routine patrol check, collect data and safety inspections on the Polymerization Process.
• Actively participate in EHSS activities including concern reporting, Safety Risk Assessment (SRA), EHSS committee meeting.
• Assist in maintenance works and perform routine cleaning of process equipment such as heat exchanger and strainers.
• Maintain established 5S standard at workplace.
• Capture all the activities and adjustment made during shift in the logbook, and proper escalation for any unresolved operational variances.
• Follow up and follow through all TOI/TA/Interlock bypass according to plan/instruction.
• Manage and coordinate logistic and downstream production team for raw material handling, finish good management, and packaging.
• Participate drills and emergency response trainings to ensure high degree of readiness in response to any emergency situations.
• Participate in EHSS, Cost & Quality improvement project.

Job Requirement:

• Preferably with 2 years’ relevant work experience in a chemical plant.
• Good knowledge and experiences in PTW system and ERT trainings.
• In-depth knowledge in polymerization processing, fire vessel operation, and solid handling.
• Mechanical related working experience is a plus
• Knowledgeable about chemical process plant operation
• Knowledgeable in mechanical equipment
• Knowledgeable about emergency response practices
• Basic investigation skills to make right judgement in the continuous operational environment
• Basic knowledge in results trend analysis
• Good communication skills in verbal and written English. Capable of calm and clear communication under pressure.

Job Scope:

• Complete all documentation including Record of Manual Operation (RMO), Cleaning Instruction (CI), Manufacturing Instruction (MI) according with GMP and GDP standards.

About the role:

• Management of annual/specific Project and Maintenance activities/budgets (both Mechanical and E&I) throughout the fiscal year to achieve department goals.
• Ensuring that the relevant maintenance strategies, as well as industry best practices, are applied to the activities for maintenance and modifications in the plant to achieve reliability and availability of plant equipment of the highest level.
• Ensures all plant and equipment is maintained to the highest level of safety for work to avoid lost time accidents, with immediate response and thorough investigations and corrective actions for all hazardous occurrences and accidents.
• Ensure all Mechanical and E&I maintenance activities are carried out by the Company’s HSEQ Standards, statutory requirements, Company Maintenance & Management System and best industry maintenance practices.
• Ensuring that there are adequate procedures and systems put in place for maintenance activities conducted within the process plant.
• Oversee all facilities planning and operations/functions including the maintenance, modification control of equipment, space allocation, move and construction.
• Works with counterparts in parent and subsidiary companies on technology transfers to raise maintenance performance standards.
• Line management responsibility for Maintenance team members.
• Approval of all work requests for equipment maintenance and modifications related to improvements and safety of process and plant.
• Approval of requisition for new equipment and maintenance spares.
• Approval of Contractors’ daily timesheets.
• Approval of the daily maintenance activities and modifications in the plant.
• Approval of grade change maintenance activities, in consultation with the production department
• Planning and managing the shutdown maintenance.
• Provide training needs of Maintenance team members to ensure that they have the necessary skills and competencies to carry out their work in an efficient manner.
• Assessment and review of in-house contractors’ performance and the contract.
• Undertakes special assignments or projects as directed by the Manufacturing Director.

About you:

• Degree holding in Electrical / Instrument / Mechanical Engineering, with 10 - 15 years of work experience in plant maintenance.
• Experiences in the chemical industry in Singapore as a Manager or Assistant manager.
• Experiences and knowledge about maintenance of mechanical rotating equipment and static facilities.
• Experiences as E&I Process/Maintenance Engineer at a chemical plant or manufacturing facility.
• Better to have knowledge about and to be familiar with high voltage power supply/MCC, control panel and/or DCS design and system to manage establishment.
