SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technician/Senior Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive / breakdown maintenance on all M&E services and building works. He will be required to be specializing in areas consist of plumbing, masonry, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, carpentry or other areas of maintenance work.

• Carry out preventive / breakdown maintenance on all plumbing and sanitary systems of the Hotel to ensure that there is no chokage/ blockage in the plumbing and sanitary systems.
• Operate and carry out preventive / breakdown maintenance on all mechanical equipment such as air conditioning system, freezer, refrigerators, pumps, coolers, ice-makers and other refrigeration equipment.
• To operate and carry out preventive maintenance and repairs of all electrical installations and equipment such as generator, fire protection system (including emergency lighting), internal and external lighting, etc. at the hotel – including preventive maintenance for all 542 guestrooms, cycle based on Department Goals.
• Able to carry out M&E installation and repair work
• Able to trouble-shooting building defect and request
• Construct and repair furniture such as cabinet, cupboard, table, chairs, doors and props.
• To place order for materials, fittings and tools according to specifications needed for carpentry. Coordinate with Engineering administrator.
• Carry out painting, polishing, varnish furniture and ensure that they are well varnished. To maintain constant checking of plant operation.
• To ensure standard of operation, safety and housekeeping are up to standard.
• Assist in energy conservation programme and participate in fire-fighting and safety exercise.
• To know the procedures of firefighting.
• To minimize energy wastage.
• To carry out any other duties when directed by the Superior.

Job requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Nitec in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services or equivalent.
• Preferably with minimum 1-2 years of experience in Engineering related industries for Technician.
• Preferably with minimum 2 years or more of experience in Engineering related industries for Senior Technician.

• CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent.
• Demonstrated competence in troubleshooting wiring and mechanical problems.
• Ability to use computers (Microsoft Windows, Chrome/Firefox, etc)
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• A Drivers license (manual Class 3) is required to drive a truck/big van to transport the robots and machines for demos.
• Driven individual, passionate about robotics, self-starter.

Bonus:

• Experience driving large vehicles such as trucks, pickups, vans etc. The robots will either go in a truck, van, or trailer pulled by a pickup truck. Class 3.

The Technician / Senior Technician ensures that facilities / assets are safe and functional by reviewing their preventive and corrective maintenance activities in compliance with quality and safety standards and regulations. He/she leads technical investigations in the cases of fault calls and conducts risk assessments to ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WSH) practices. He/she also liaises with third-party service deliverers to ensure maintenance or repair works provided are carried out in a timely manner.

He/she has the sound technical knowledge required for facility maintenance and is a competent problem solver. He/she works at designated sites and may be deployed to other properties or locations.

Day-to-day operations

• Standby purposes on-site to be the first response for any incident.
• Routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• To identify and raise to the Engineer if there is any faulty equipment.
• Escort and supervise any S&M, or Repair work conducted.
• Be the hands-on person to carry out S&M / Repair
• Monitor chiller plant performance (kW/RT)
• Assist Engineer to carry out any works to optimize and maintain chiller plant performance.
• Ensure Service Reports for periodic S&M is properly documented and stored.
• Attend to any complaints by Customers.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to do overtime and the candidate is expected to be stationed on-site during the work shift.
• Training will be provided.
• Willingness to learn.
• Candidates staying in Singapore preferred.

Candidates with more years of relevant technical experience may be considered for a Senior Technician position.
