A construction engineer is a civil engineer who oversees the design and construction of large building projects and works closely with architects and structural engineers to interpret building design plans and ensure that the project meets certain safety requirements. What does a construction engineer do?

A construction engineer assists with construction projects to ensure that teams build in accordance with the proper plans and specifications. They also help maintain and repair infrastructure systems, such as roads, dams, water supply systems and buildings. They work with engineers and construction crews to organize and complete projects. Some of their additional responsibilities might include:

• Developing construction project budgets, ordering materials and collecting and organizing resources and personnel, including structural engineering employees, tools, machines and physical materials
• Operating machinery and using tools to design complex structures like hydraulic systems and using computer software to plan and design projects and conduct risk analyses
• Overseeing building progress and enforcing safety regulations at construction sites and submitting building permits to the proper authorities
• Assessing the viability and potential risks associated with a construction project

• To monitor the progress of work against the baseline schedule & preparation of daily records & monthly site progress reports.
• Responsible for general on-site technical and engineering matters.
• Quality Control.
• Co-ordination of works with subcontractors.
• Liaise with the consultants on technical and quality issues.
• Arrangement for inspection of works.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or related equivalent
• Required skill(s): MS Office, preferable candidate with AutoCad skills
• Minimum 2 years Site/Working Experience

• Prepare costing and tender for the project;
• To handle the maintenance for Air-Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering works and ensure Client & regulatory requirements are met;
• Schedule for maintenance activities and inspection, as to ensure that targeted completion dates are met;
• Schedule meetings and coordinate with Clients, Consultants, Contractors, Vendor
• Carrying out chiller maintenance according to contractual requirements and manufacturer recommendations;
• Maintaining the sites A/C systems as required to aid productivity and efficiency;
• Ensuring all routine maintenance is carried out in line with the sites maintenance schedule;
• Documenting and certificating all work carried out to meet our contractual and statutory obligations;
• Identifying and resolving remedial requirements on all systems;
• Taking full ownership of any site issues from identification through to resolution;
• Quoting and undertaking repair work as required by the client;
• Attend to hard complaints;
• Monitor customer e-mails and ensure shortest respond time;
• Submit service report and quotation to Finance Dept to process billings;
• Record & certified supplier's invoices before handover to Finance Dept etc.

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor of Degree in Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5years relevant experience in engineering
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes.
• Familiarity with relevant construction codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
