Job Summary

This role reports to the Finance Director responsible for managing finance operations and reporting for local and overseas entities, including statutory compliance, internal control, treasury, financial analysis and reporting. The Controller supports the development and implementation of financial strategies to meet the objectives of the company and is responsible for implementation and enhancement of policy, procedures and ICT systems to add value to the business.

Key responsibilities

•Oversee financial accounting team of 6 people on daily finance operations, monthly reporting and consolidation.

•Lead the Group’s Statutory, IFRS and local GAAP compliance for all entities. Manage audit process, transfer pricing, tax compliance and Corporate secretariat matters.

•Ensure compliance with company and group’s policies and procedures; Develop and implement new policies & procedures, and internal controls with best practice.

•Support ICT system implementation, introduce automation to workflows to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

•Drive working capital management and cashflow forecast with key stakeholders. Liaise with banking partners on treasury matters.

•Review and deliver financial reports with timeliness and accuracy. Highlight key issues, risks, and business drivers and provide insights and actionable recommendations for decision making. Develop new and improve existing financial reports.

•Manage Capex commitment, tracking and records.

•Collaborate across teams and business-partner with stakeholders to align business and financial goals.

•Manage, mentor, develop and motivate team members.

•Other duties as assigned, including evaluation and establishment of new entities.

•This role may require occasional travel.

Requirements:

●Qualified finance professional with at least 5 years of relevant experience, including managing finance department.

●Strong technical accounting knowledge and commercial business acumen.

●A team player with good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

●Proactive, meticulous, self-motivated with a positive attitude.

●Superior MS Office skills. Knowledge of Hyperion and Microsoft Dynamic Navision experience would be an advantage but not necessary.

●Experience in fast-paced event/project management industry, supported start-up or growth stage of business a plus.

• Experience in Financial Risk, Market Risk, leading a high-performance team and large-scale high-impact projects on Market Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, Risk Analytics for risk analysis, monitoring, and reporting.
• Maintained daily market risk for Global Fixed Incomes Credit, Equity Derivatives and Prime Services; enhanced daily market risk reports and regulatory reports by using Excel, VBA, Tableau and Python
• Hands on experince of Capital Markets products (e.g., Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives, Futures, Swaps), Market Risk methodologies and regulations (e.g., Value-at-Risk, Stress Testing, Back Testing, Basel II, FRTB)
• Proficient at Excel Macro, SQL, Python, MATLAB, STATA, Tableau, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, PowerPoint, Unix Bash
• Oversee the projects by collaborating with IT and Data team and enhanced operation process by conducting reconciliations and automating procedures using Python & Unix Bash script to deliver timely risk reporting.
• Taking care of financial models, pricing derivatives, automating reports, and building trusting relationships with stakeholders including Traders, Risk, IT, Compliance & Audit

The Role

Reporting to the company accountant in Singapore, the successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of numerous financial activities including monthly management accounts, reporting and KPIs for our Asia-Pacific region which encompasses companies in both Singapore and Japan within a growing global business.

Responsibilities

• Execute all aspects of financial recording and reporting for our Japanese and Singapore business units including: posting of all AP and AR transactions, journal posting, updating of schedules such as fixed assets, etc.
• Manage accounting data and information in spreadsheets or software.
• Handle petty cash expenses including office expenses and travel allowances for employees.
• Process employee payments such as: expense claims, secondment (mobility) costs, payroll preparations, etc.
• Completion and submission of tax returns and other required filings to respective governments in Singapore and Japan.
• Assist the Singapore monthly management accounts
• Assist with yearly audits
• Prepare annual financial budgets for both Singapore and Japan
• Other ad hoc duties as required by management

Criteria

• Must have local professional accountancy accreditation such as: CPA, ACCA, Singapore CA, etc. Please state this in your CV.
• Minimum 4-6 years of experience in accounting field.
• Must have knowledge of GST
• Must have experience in year-end reporting and audits

Responsibilities

To provide data-driven financial insights, analysis, and finance business support that contribute to the overall success and decision-making of the organization.

Take ownership and ensure the integrity and quality for the financial planning and analysis processes including annual budgeting, monthly reforecasting and sensitivity analysis.

Contribute as finance business partner, participate, and provide comprehensive review and analysis to decision makers including, but not limited to:

analysis of revenue performance and growth, profit and losses, variances, revenue reports and key performance indicators

performance reports for Audit Committee and/or Board

initiatives including process review and system implementation projects as required by C-Suites and or other department HoDs

Plan and manage cash flow liquidity. Ensure compliance with bank-related matters including documentation, compliance certificates and other notices.

Build and maintain driver-based forecasts, back test and analyze drivers, and concisely communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.

Work closely with the finance team and relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate financial information is being used in the budgeting and forecasting process.

Ensure alignment between monthly and quarterly forecast and annual budget. Track forecast accuracy and manage/escalate risks to the forecast.

Drive forward dashboards and enhancements to the planning system to support a robust financial and funding plan that is consistent with the management plan.

Support financial reporting including impairment testing and hedging documentation.

Responsibility for debt management including monitoring for compliance with financing agreements and preparation of notices for bank-related procedures and processes.

Develop financial models, tools and methodology to make key business decisions. Advising relevant business units on the financial feasibility of any proposed strategies.

Requirements

Degree/ Diploma in Accountancy/ Finance./ ACCA with 8 -10 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance or Financial services.

Experience in a similar FP&A and/or finance related role, and building/maintaining a budgeting & forecasting system.

Highly skilled in financial modelling and analysis. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Positive, resourceful and a strong team player. Ability to build relationships across the organization of varying functions and levels with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Open minded to influence processes changes and automation. Prior experience of business process re-engineering and ERP system implementation will be a plus.

About The Role

The Financial Aid Department (FA) administers matters pertaining to the application of scholarships, sponsorships and financial aid. In addition, the department provides advisory to prospective and existing students who are applying for scholarships, sponsorships and financial aid.
In this role, the incumbent will facilitate the processing and award of scholarships, sponsorships and financial aid schemes.
