Role: Consultant – Structured Cabling Systems (Digital Infrastructure)

Responsibilities
Our consultants are responsible for providing professional services to PTS’ clients throughout strategy, design, procurement and implementation stages of projects.
Overview of Role:
To perform the role of Consultant - for the PTS Digital Infrastructure (DI) Practice:
· Working as part of a multi-skilled team to provide structured cabling and telecoms design services to PTS’ clients
· Convert client requirements from concept design to fully functional solutions
· Manage the tendering process and quality assure installations
· Represent PTS in a professional manner at all times and exercise good communication skills with the Client; other design bodies and contractors
The Digital Infrastructure Consultant will be responsible for:
· Assisting the Practice Lead with project delivery, strategy and market direction to develop the practice
· Defining the business needs of clients and accordingly formulating the technology requirements of organisations into written strategies
· Supporting the Practice Lead in presenting and justifying the strategy to technical, non-technical and CX-level clients
· Supporting the Digital Infrastructure Practice Lead in managing and defining processes for competitive procurement including:
o Assisting with proposals and sales presentations
o Evaluating and analysing responses
o Vendor management
· Supporting the Practice Lead in establishing and refining the service delivery processes
· Develop partner & consortium relationships
Description of Duties
· To provide IT Infrastructure consultancy with any design works, including but not limited to: proposals, schematics, budgetary information, tender documentation, project management including design coordination with other designers to establish integrated solutions
· To provide design across the various IT Infrastructure platforms
· Manage an IT Infrastructure project end-to-end; from initiation, requirements gathering, concept and detailed designs, procurement including management of RFPs, vendor interview and selection, project coordination during construction periods including representation during construction meetings and reporting, through to testing & commissioning and user acceptance training
· Create or contribute to related PTS tender responses
· Increase business opportunities through various routes to market
· Understand the local and global IT Infrastructure delivery capability of PTS
· Understand and report market conditions and competitor activity
· Maintain a self-development program
· Represent PTS to the public, key stakeholders, executive management, business partners and clients
· Provide weekly project status updates
· Ensure PTS’ adherence to agreed scope of works raising and tracking change requests
· Ensure that technical skills are kept up to-date and continually improved
· Ensure proper time recording
In addition to delivery responsibilities, the Digital Infrastructure Consultant is expected to:
· Have strong organisational and communication skills
· Project manage a team of consultants or vendors across multiple technology disciplines

· Be able to command and empathise with both internal and client teams
· Manage multiple simultaneous assignments and clients
· Collaborate with other PTS teams (AV, physical security, Professional and Managed Services) and service lines so that a united PTS can provide a complete IP-based intelligent building proposition

Experience and Certifications
Relevant Necessary Experience:
· At least 5 years of experience with designing copper/fibre cabling, route design, power distribution, racking, coordination with mechanical and electrical designs, installation of network hardware
· Candidates should have experience in a technical SCS environment including: design; estimation; installation and quality assurance
· Understand the complexities of structured cabling installations in construction environments
· Previous experience in data centre SCS design and campus distribution is an advantage
· Understanding of MS Project, MS Visio, MS Office and CAD Software
· Possess a knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems standards
· Commercial acumen an advantage, e.g. technical pre-sales
· BICSI / CNET Certifications or other Relevant Certifications
· A demonstrable passion for technology
· Excellent spoken and written English
· Able to travel Asia-wide
