Job Description – Science Lab Support
Role:
This is a full-time, onsite, Science Lab Support Role in MOE Primary School. If you are selected,
You will work closely with HOD/LH-Science and/or Admin Manager in an MOE Primary School (nearest MRT- Pioneer &Lakeside) in the day-to-day activities.

Responsibilities:
• Provide teaching and learning support to teachers, for example, preparation of resources / materials for science laboratory activities and enrichment programme.
• Label and keep records of existing and new Science teaching and learning materials and lab resources such as teachers’ desk copies, reference books, lab apparatus and chemicals etc.
· Maintain loan records of Science Resources.
• Pack and organise the resources in the Science Rooms. Ensure that the Science rooms are clean and conducive for lessons.
• Ensure lab equipment, materials and specimens are in good working conditions. Conduct stock-take at least twice a year.
Maintain a stock book and breakage record to initiate ordering of replacements where necessary.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste materials such as sharp waste objects and chemicals.
• Ensure safety of pupils in the Science rooms. Report any incident to Science HOD/ Level Head.
Maintain a laboratory incident log book.
• Check that first aid box is updated, safety devices in the laboratory, such as emergency eye-washers, showers and fire extinguishers are working.
• Provide administrative / logistical support for Science competitions, assessments and programmes collation of survey results and distribution of Science materials to pupils etc.
• Assist in carrying out safety briefings such as Laboratory Safety, equipment awareness (e.g. Microscopes).
• Any other duties assigned by the School

Job Requirements:
• Diploma in Science or its equivalent
• At least one year experience in assisting HOD-Science in the execution of daily Science Laboratory Operational and Administrative duties.
• At least one year experience of providing support for Science programmes; STEM & Sustainability projects and Laboratorybased lessons in schools.
• Experience in creating digital resources such as presentations and videos according to Science Experiential Learning Experiences using powerpoint.
• Proficient in preparation and maintenance of Laboratory equipment.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Good interpersonal, communication, planning and analytical skills.
• Has experience working with primary school students in school settings.
• Able to plan and work both independently and as part of a team
• Certified with standard first aid is not necessary but will be an advantage
Summary:
Contract Period: From 30 December 2024 to 29 December 2025.
Working Hours:
• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 1.0 hour
lunch break
• Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1.0 hour lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public
holidays
