Summarized Purpose:

• Provides support to investigator sites, monitors, department, business unit or function through communication of information, training sites and documentation of services pertaining to clinical trials. Essential Functions:

Host Pathogen Interactions in A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR ID Labs) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the lab.

We are seeking a talented and collaborative post-doctoral researcher to work in the broad scope of host-pathogen interactions and infectious diseases. The lab has various funded projects on the comparison of host-alphavirus interactions at the immune response level in vivo in animal models through a novel viral-centric and multiOmic approach. Other projects include immune response evaluation of vaccine adjuvant candidates, development of cell-based reporter systems of viral infections to facilitate and accelerate antiviral studies, as well as development of novel vaccine strategies.

The candidate will be expected to work on funded projects as well as develop novel research projects in the scope of the lab research interests to be able to apply to the various early career development schemes both at an internal and external national level. Virus studied in the lab are positive sense RNA viruses as well as some negative sense RNA viruses. Other common techniques and tools in the lab include protein-protein/RNA interactions, microscopy, functional genomics, viral reverse genetics, CRISPR Cas9 gene editing. Animals models available in the lab include mice and zebrafish.

Throughout the project, close collaborative work within A*STAR ID Labs as well as other institutes throughout Singapore and overseas will be used to leverage expertise for high impact studies.

The project focuses on creating a mesoscopic-scale "artificial atom" through superconducting levitation of a ferromagnetic particle. A*ID Labs brings together infectious diseases expertise from across multiple disciplines to drive cutting edge translational infectious diseases research to contribute to Singapore’s national preparedness.

You will be joining the Mucosal Infection Lab. The lab focuses on modelling mucosal infection using in vitro and in vivo systems with priority antimicrobial resistance (AMR) bacteria to understand disease pathogenesis. Specifically, the projects will involve dissecting the mechanisms in the gut-liver axis during bacterial induced pyrogenic liver abscess. Candidates with prior experience working with liver diseases and single-cell RNAseq are preferred.
