A Research Fellow (RF) position is available at the National University of Singapore.

The RF will contribute to the development and implementation of statistical analyses within different projects in the field of Medical Statistics and Biostatistics, involving data from large heterogeneous cohorts such as GUSTO and S-PRESTO (more info at https://www.gusto.sg/ and https://www.s-presto.sg/). Qualifications

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your tasks

• Be responsible for administrative tasks such as data entry and docketing of IP related events of our clients' intellectual property rights portfolios, in particular this includes the events that are related to formality steps of patents, trademarks, designs and utility models
• Independent and responsible input of data into the internal system, intellectual property management software as well as administration, maintenance and monitoring of IP relevant data

About The Role

The key goal of this role is to drive our Brand Experience business forward, continuing double-digit growth to one of our newest experience lines in Singapore. This role is a senior subject matter expert with extensive research experience. Do note that this is an individual contributor role, which means you will be motivated enough to roll up your sleeves and contribute to the assigned projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience within the custom Market Research industry
• Lead and successfully deliver bespoke research solutions to clients throughout the entire project lifecycle (methodology, design & analysis)

Responsibilities

• Design and improve experiences for our Brand and Market Research clients
• Partner with the sales team to design quantitative research methodology & sampling plans.
• Handle logistics for quantitative research projects, including maintaining organization and timelines among the internal team, scheduling and planning research engagements, checking data (with the ability and desire to learn how to manage both “up” and “down”),
• Play a supporting role for clients on projects and maintain comprehensive notes

Responsibilities:

· Contribute to research and development efforts in the marine and offshore, maritime, and underwater systems areas, in particular the modelling and control of physical systems such as autonomous vessels, underwater robots and offshore renewable energy systems.

· Work in a multidisciplinary team to continuously develop and enhance our sensing, data acquisition, and cyberphysical model test capabilities. This work includes requirements formulation, sensor and actuator acquisition and characterisation, control algorithm design and implementation, controller tuning, validation and verification etc.

· Actively engage with other team members to share ideas and exchange knowledge, by e.g. producing and maintaining technical documentation, and sharing developments in the state-of-the-art.

We are the Research Data Integration group, at Bioinformatics Institute, A*STAR.

We are looking for a research officer to assist with various projects in the lab related to big data in precision medicine through the use of data science tools such as machine learning and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modeling. The research officer will be expected to perform bioinformatics-related tasks, such as multi-omics analysis, compile and manage databases, and execute basic PK/PD models and analysis in R. On the job training will be provided for pharmacometrics expertise, a highly sought after skill in the field of drug development.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and dry-lab support to the team’s research activities.
• Assist with hands-on experiments and operations including immunofluorescent imaging and blood sampling for PK analysis.
• Follow analytic procedures and instrumental operation guidelines, plan and execute experiments independently.
• Perform data collection and analysis, present progress reports, and manage research data and notes.
• Maintain lab inventory and procurement of laboratory consumables.

Job description

1. Perform research in the following areas relating to coastal protection and adaptation to climate change:

- Wave attenuation over mangroves, seagrasses and coral reefs

- Feasibility of floating wetlands

2. Conduct literature review, field surveys and liaise with relevant government agencies to establish configurations of coastal vegetation/coral which are representative of those commonly found in Singapore.

3. Assist in planning and executing physical modelling and simulations involving free-surface waves interacting with artificial coastal vegetation/corals, as well as waves interacting with floating wetlands.

4. Perform numerical modelling and simulations using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and relevant tools for validation with model test results, and subsequently conduct parametric study and interface with other research partners.

5. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements

Qualification & Field of Study:

Bachelor/Master's Degree in Coastal Engineering, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering or other related disciplines.

Work Experience:

1. Preferably having relevant research/industry experience with competent knowledge in some of the following areas:

- Coastal engineering, civil engineering and/or naval architecture.

2. Prior experience/knowledge of the following software/programming languages will be preferred:

- CAD software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, and/or AutoCAD

- Hydrodynamic analysis tools such as SESAM, OrcaFlex and/or WAMIT
