As the AVP, Commercial Development, you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that establish Abaxx Exchange as a thought leader in the financial industry and ultimately drive the commercial success of the organisation. This role requires a strong understanding of B2B marketing, effective communication skills, strong interpersonal skills to network and build positive relationships with stakeholders and clients, and the ability to be strategic in carrying out your responsibilities. Possessing a background in commodities and/or financial markets would be advantageous for this role. You will report to the SVP, Corporate Development.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities, observe industry trends and analyse the competitive landscape in commodity and financial markets.
- Assist in developing marketing strategies aligned with the broad organisational objectives and work closely with other business functions to align marketing efforts with functional business objectives.
- Assist in planning and tracking marketing budget.
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns to increase brand and product awareness.
- Plan and coordinate events, conferences, and promotional activities to increase visibility on Abaxx Exchange and connect with industry stakeholders
- Manage and optimise digital marketing channels including social media, email marketing and online advertising.
- Create compelling and informative content targeted at the commodity and finance audience through various marketing channel including social media, website, industry publications.
- Manage production of multimedia content
- Be proficient in writing and proofreading text and ensure that messaging resonates with target audience.
- Prepare and tailor marketing decks and documentation for various stakeholders.
- Ensure all marketing materials and campaigns comply with financial regulations and industry standards.
- Updating and managing our client database using a Client Relationship Management system
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in either Marketing, Finance, Business or a related field
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as a marketing, sales and/or commercial development professional
- Demonstrable experience in sales and relationship management of institutional clients in the financial sector
- Strong understanding of financial markets, products and regulatory frameworks is helpful
- Prior experience in commodities is advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive marketing decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team
- Effective networker and be good at relationship management, thrive in a dynamic work environment
- Creative thinking and ability to tailor marketing strategies and content to specific audiences within the client and stakeholder
