Responsibilities:
- Oversee the technical performance of Vessels (Owned/Chartered In), ensuring vessels are maintained in optimal operational condition.
- Develop Plan maintenance system applicable to company vessels / barges
- Plan and execute routine maintenance and repair schedules.
- Monitor and liaise with Classification societies and flag states to ensure vessel certification and surveys are up-to-date.
- Adhere to the company Operations, Technical and HSQE policies and practices.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL etc.)
- Approve, co-ordinate and arrange supply of stores, spares and consumables, in accordance with Company’s SCM guidelines.
- Coordinate and control vessel’s budget relevant to Technical aspects.
- Able to attend vessel /barge drydocking in homebase and overseas
- Briefing of Shipboard Senior Officers prior to joining vessels with regards to Safety Management System as required, Technical Matters onboard, and specific charterers’ requirements.
- Conduct (independently) suitability surveys, on-hire surveys, off-hire surveys, bunker surveys and with knowledge of the requirements of most marine warranty surveys.
- Liaise with Marine Agents, Marine Warranty Surveyors, Classification Society Surveyors and Client Representatives.
- Closeout the MWS & Oil Major punch list with the most economical way.
- Maintain and upkeep technical Manuals, Drawings, Catalogues from makers and yards.
- Supervise the outfitting of vessels. Prepare and transmit the Statement of Facts for the progress of the outfitting.
- Conduct fuel consumption analysis for vessels.
- Review and verify Critical spare onboard based on Vessel operation requirements.
- Assist Project Manager with the Mobilization of the 3rd party Vessel with crewing, ship Chandelling, Bunkering and Provision.
- Assist Project Manager with 3rd party vessel scope of Work in line with project requirement.
- Member of the shore Emergency Response Team for the relevant vessels.
- Assist in the identification of safety risk assessment and environmental aspects / impacts for vessel operations. Carry out audits and inspections as assigned.
- Be part of the incident investigation team providing technical assistance as and when required by the Board of Inquiry.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in engineering or marine discipline
- 5 year of working experience in operation / project roles
- Good understanding, knowledge and experience of offshore marine operations
- Knowledge of the requirements of common marine warranty surveys
- Certificate of Competency (preferable)
- Sea going experience as marine engineer officer in offshore vessel (preferable)
- Able to travel overseas if required
