As a Senior Linux Engineer, you are responsible to manage, maintain, and optimize our Linux-based infrastructure and associated technologies within our hybrid IT environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health, performance, and security of servers and systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and support enterprise-wide solutions.

What you will do:

• Install new and/or rebuild Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenShift, Oracle Linux and related infrastructure components in accordance to customer’s governance & audit requirements.
• Maintain Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for recurring tasks, such as OS patching, backup & recovery, OS hardening and/or deviations, together with the customer to ensure the processes are in line and up to date as necessary.
• Perform daily system checks and monitoring and to highlight if any abnormalities are found, and to participate in troubleshooting and service recovery.
• Participate infrastructure/OS support with other day 2 project teams, as well as day 1 implementation teams for rollouts and enhancements.
• Execute infrastructure lifecycle events such as (Add/Modify/Change of users accounts), software updates (OS kernel, agent/client software, etc.)
• Work with related infrastructure towers (e.g. Storage, Network, etc.) as an integrated service delivery team to fulfil customer’s objectives.
• Hands-on involvement for monthly and ad-hoc OS patching as necessary for the Linux servers/containers under the service contract.
• Perform ongoing performance monitoring and recommend improvements, software upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
• Perform monthly performance reporting and capturing of server health statistics to assist with capacity planning.
• Assess and Resolve infrastructure related incidents and problems and provide support to application teams.
• Escalate to principal vendors and/or 3rd party vendors and facilitate their work as required within the customer’s premises & regulations.
• Rotating standby to work on night or weekend tasks when required.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Diploma / Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
• 5 - 7 years of hands-on experience in Linux
• RHEL certified is a plus

Primary Purpose

The Journey-to-Cloud multidisciplinary team of cloud-native practitioners will tailor the cloud journey and architecture for our customers based on their business needs and industry compliances.

The Lead Cloud Architect is a new growth role within the Journey-to-Cloud Practice. He is unique with a hybrid of skillsets covering Azure platform expertise, Cloud-based Architecture, Data Architecture and Digital capabilities. He is responsible for creating the most appropriate cloud architecture for a software development project, and maintaining control over the cloud architecture throughout the entire project lifecycle. The ideal candidate should possess:

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to security events and incidents using established incident response plan/runbook and creating process and procedures where none are already established.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent
• Minimum 6 years of experience in database administration
• Experience either in Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres or MongoDB
• ITIL certification will be an added advantage
• Experienced in configuring, implementing, and maintaining databases including troubleshooting
• Able to do scripting for automation is a plus
• Able to provide prompt 24x7 support when necessary

The Network Engineer is responsible to provide operational support to network infrastructure, support to the clients and resolution of technical issues and conducting root cause analysis. He/She is also required to manage change request through changes requests processes including requirement gathering, impact analysis, design, testing to integrate the change to existing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Gather business application requirements on the infrastructure to plan, design, install, test & implement systems in accordance with the specifications & service level.
• Aligned or enhanced ITSM/ITIL methodologies in daily operations e.g. Change, Incident, problem, release management, etc.
• Monitor & measure the performance & availability of systems proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & service level availability.
• Respond promptly to incident, root cause analysis & provide temporary and/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated. Provide timely status updates to relevant parties

Requirements:

• Familiar and experienced in implementing and configuring network products like routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls and more
• Strong familiarity with Cisco F5, Checkpoint and F5 load balancer is a plus
• Certification in Network products is a plus
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with ability to explain technology from a customer perspective

Project Delivery

• Manage assigned module activities to ensure timely delivery, including identification of critical path, monitoring and driving completion of interdependent activities and adjustment to module schedules to ensure achievement to overall project completion deadline.
• Manage the module scope in consultation with PM/PD
• Establish module milestones and module deliverables in consultation with PM/PD
• Draft and Review project/module documentation to ensure that it meets customers requirement and conforms to quality management process, standards and procedures to minimise rework.
• Manage the module implementation and schedules within allocated budget and deadline
• Escalate and discuss module overrun issues, scope creep, integration issues, resource requirements with PM/PD
• Work with vendor support to diagnose and rectify technical problems.
• Manage expectation on handover process to maintenance team

Team Management

• Manage, oversee and control the efficiency of the day-to-day technical operation of assigned maintenance projects
• Supporting PM in running the team including covering in absence and ensuring standards of care are maintained
• Lead the management of all incidents and problems to identify the root cause and implement workarounds or resolutions to bring the incidents and problems to a satisfactory closure
• Leading the technical team members to ensure that all delegate tasks proceeding according to schedule and requirement
• Provide the technical team with accurate information about priorities as well as details about assigned tasks
• Providing technical coaching

Client Management

• Build relationships with customer representative. Identify areas where we can value add and support them beyond responsibility

• Negotiate with customer representative on change request effort, schedules and prioritize changes based on business needs

• Clear and open communication with customer representative on project issues include incidents management or clarifications

A little about you

• Must have experience with IBM MQ.
• Must have experience in at least 1 SDLC project.
• Experience in Unix or Linux is advantageous.
• At least 5 years of software /application development experience
• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering
• Possess initiative and disposition with a strong commitment and orientation towards results and high-quality standards
• Proficient in written and spoken English
