Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Assistant Interior Designer to join our vibrant team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in the interior design field while working alongside experienced professionals. You will play a key role in supporting all aspects of the design process, from client interaction to project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Assist senior designers in developing creative concepts for residential/commercial interior design projects (tailor based on company's area of expertise).
• Conduct research to source furniture, materials, finishes, and equipment within budget constraints.
• Create presentation materials, including mood boards, space plans, and 2D/3D visualizations (mention specific software if required).
• Assist with preparing and maintaining project schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery and installation of materials and furniture.
• Manage project samples and maintain an organized sample library.
• Prepare presentations and proposals for client meetings.
• Take accurate minutes during client meetings and follow up on action items.
• Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining project documentation.
• May assist with some aspects of space planning and basic drafting tasks (if applicable).

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Interior Design or related field (or) diploma in Interior Design with relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of design principles, including color theory, space planning, and furniture selection.
• Proficiency in design software programs like AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar (mention specific requirements).
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with designers, clients, vendors, and contractors.
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating beautiful and functional spaces.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A) Engine Room Equipment and Systems and Utilities Operation and Maintenance

· Prepare Engine Room and Utility Systems for start-up.

· Start and Monitor Engine Room and Utility Systems

· Prepare and Shutdown Engine Room and Utility Systems

· Isolate and re-instate Engine Room and Utility Systems for Maintenance

B) Manage and Supervise Effectively

· Establish effective relationships with colleagues and subcontractors.

· Implement scope of work clearly (briefings, toolbox talks, presentations.)

· Plan and control use of resources effectively. (Personnel, time, materials, transport, IT) within limit of responsibility

· Use of communication skills shows leadership (oral, teambuilding, recording, noting, handover, analysing).

· Contribute to On Job Training of subordinates

C) Contribute to control of critical situations and respond to emergencies

· Developing critical situations (operational, weather, equipment failure, leaks, fires, personnel etc) are identified and logged for later analysis

· Positive action is taken to limit escalation and to maintain control using applied policies or procedures or initiative

· Supervisor/CCR/OIM are alerted in good time as appropriate

D) Monitor and Maintain Pollution Control Measures

· Sample and check that controlled process discharges from area of responsibility to the environment are within prescribed limits

· Identify and halt unplanned discharges where possible, and reported immediately according to policy, procedure and regulation.

· Equipment, waste or other materials for disposal are dealt with according to the correct procedure

· Resources such as PPE materials tools and spares are not wasted or used inefficiently

E) Emergency Response

· Perform Emergency Response role

· Show competence during drills and exercises

Pre-hire Qualifications and Experience

· Qualified to EOOW STCW Reg AIII/1

· At least 1-year experience as Watch keeping Marine Engineer (steam turbine watch keeping experience preferable).

· VLCC experience preferred.

· Medically fit to offshore International standards such as ENG1 or equivalent.

· After the completion of the project in Singapore, willingness to sail and work onboard offshore locations according to the company's operational requirements.

Personal Skills :

Personal: Conscientious. Capable of assertive and positive communication and performance.

Leadership: Good safety and supervisory attitude. Good levels of written and spoken communication in English language. Clear understanding of personnel behavioural and team issues.

Technical: Appropriate standard of supervisory, technical, and professional knowledge as defined by competences.

IT: Practical familiarity with standard ’Office’ software package. Operation and use of internet and electronic mail system. Familiarity with Maintenance Management System packages AMOS/Maximo etc.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Support recruitment activities, reviewing and liaison with candidates, government bodies and internally pertaining to onboarding documents including Singapore Medical Council (SMC) and pass applications.
• Manage exit interviews reschedules (if any) for resignees (specialist level) to meet with VMB/ACMB.
