The Asian Civilisations Museum is the only museum in the region devoted to exploring the rich artistic heritage of Asia, especially the ancestral cultures of Singaporeans. Curators develop and manage the collections and exhibitions of the museum. They collect, research, interpret, and make the collections accessible to the public through exhibitions and interpretive displays. They undertake project management and administrative functions to ensure smooth running of the Museum to meet the Singapore National Heritage Board’s aim of cultivating public awareness of the cultural inheritance of Singaporeans.

Responsibilities

– Work collaboratively with ACM-TPM curatorial team in conceptualising and developing storylines and themes for permanent galleries and special exhibitions related to Design, especially product design and fashion.

– Work collaboratively with collection managers, conservators, designers, and related parties to set up and project manage exhibitions

– Provide administrative support for curatorial activities and manage curatorial projects, including academic conferences and community consultations

– Conceive, develop, and publish exhibition catalogues, scholarly articles, and related works, including via digital formats

Requirements

Position Overview

As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and testing of the electronic systems embedded in Aprisium’s IoT-enabled analyzers. You will work closely with the product development team to ensure the electronics in our analyzers meet performance, scalability, and sustainability goals. You will also play a critical role in prototyping, validation, and transitioning designs into mass production.

Key Responsibilities

Electronic Design and Development:

• Lead the design and development of electronic circuits and systems for Aprisium’s IoT analyzers.
• Select appropriate electronic components for robustness, power efficiency, and long-term field use.
• Design and optimize PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) ensuring proper layout, signal integrity, and manufacturability.
• Work with mechanical engineers and industrial designers to integrate electronics into enclosures, ensuring functionality and ease of assembly.

Prototyping and Testing:

• Build and test prototypes of electronic designs, refining designs based on test results.
• Conduct simulations and validation tests to ensure functionality under varying environmental conditions.
• Develop test plans and procedures to validate electronic systems in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Manufacturing and Process Development:

• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to transition electronic designs into mass production.
• Optimize manufacturing processes for electronic assemblies, working with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Provide support for troubleshooting and problem-solving during the production of electronic components and systems.

Innovation and Sustainability:

• Stay up to date on the latest technologies in electronics, IoT, and sensor systems.
• Focus on sustainability in the selection of materials and energy-efficient designs.
• Contribute to reducing production costs while ensuring high-quality electronics that meet regulatory and environmental standards.

Collaboration and Cross-functional Teams:

• Work closely with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of electronics with other system components.
• Support field engineers in troubleshooting and improving product performance post-deployment.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electronics design and development, preferably in IoT or autonomous systems.
• Strong experience with PCB design, layout, and simulation tools (e.g. Eagle, Autocad).
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, sensor systems, and wireless communication technologies (e.g., RFID, BLE, LoRa, Wi-Fi).
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design and embedded systems.
• Proven experience with designing for manufacturability, testing, and validation.
• Understanding of environmental standards and compliance for electronic products.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design and architecture of software systems, developing efficient and reliable front-end and back-end solutions.

Requirements:

• Recognised Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. 3 To 5 years' relevant experience in buildings and underground structures.
• Working experience in the infrastructure sector. Must be fully conversant with BCA regulations;
• able to maintain systematically site records, contracts, documents and meet BCA reporting requirements.
• Fully conversant with Eurocode and appropriate Singapore Standards.
• Able to design concrete, steel and composite structures.

• Familiar with design software eg. Staad pro, SAP, Robot, Tedds, PROKON, MIDAS Civil etc.

Responsibilities:

• Project coordination and carry out analysis and design of civil, structural works.
• Design of reinforced concrete and structural steel building structures.
• Design of composite structures
• Design of structural steel connections
• Design of drains and sumps, underground and above ground concrete tanks
• Review of CBP and concrete and structural steel works shop drawings
• Quick reply of design changes with calculations and drawings
• Preparation of documents, design reports, making submissions to appropriate authorities and attending project meetings.

Main Responsibilities:

• Draw the overall layout drawings (including detailed design); draw safety drawings, such as escape route maps, structural fire protection maps, danger zone division maps, etc.;
• Proficiently use the stability analysis software NAPA or GHS to perform independent stability analysis and optimization work, and output stability documents, including but not limited to: freeboard calculation, hydrostatic table, cabin layout plan, tank capacity table, internal/external watertight plan, complete stability report, damaged stability report, etc.;
• Coordinate various disciplines and perform weight statistics based on the weight data provided by each discipline; analyze the accuracy of information provided by each discipline, and issue early warnings on the weight of the entire ship;
• Review and clarify the input materials of the basic design company, such as drawings and reports;
• Provide overall professional and technical support to other disciplines (detailed design + construction design), and guide them to carry out detailed and construction design work;
• Participate in the R&D and design tasks assigned by the company, and output drawings and reports related to the overall layout and stability analysis.
• Participate in and guide on-site support work and output relevant test outlines and reports: launching, towing, floating adjustment, tilting test, lifting test, sea trial, etc.;

Requirements:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in shipbuilding and marine engineering, and offshore engineering, etc.
• More than 6 years of experience in stability analysis and overall layout, those with overall professional supervisory experiences are preferred;
• Proficient in AUTO CAD, NAPA or GHS, Rhino and other design and analysis software, those with experience in marine engineering foundation design are preferred;
• Participate in the basic design work of at least one commonly used international classification society (such as ABS, DNV, LR) product, and complete the whole process from modeling, output report, submission & review, completion and delivery, and those with experience in marine engineering product design are preferred;
• Familiar with common international conventions such as IMO MODU CODE and SOLAS;
• Familiar with the types and overall layout characteristics of international mainstream marine engineering products (semi-submersibles, jack-up platforms, FPSO, etc.), and those who can independently carry out conceptual design (planning and layout) are preferred;
• Can independently translate, read and understand English materials, and can conduct daily technical exchanges in English;

• More than 8 years of electrical design experience, experience in FPSO transformation projects, and experience in electrical professional supervisor is preferred;
• Experience in AM software operation, and experience in AM software database management is preferred;
• Familiar with the specifications of at least one commonly used international classification society, and understand the requirements of the specifications for the layout and installation of electrical equipment and cables;
• Familiar with commonly used international conventions such as IMO SOLASCOLREG;
• Understand the upstream design and process design process, and understand the detailed electrical design drawings;

• Create and update BIM Models based on contract drawings and latest information.
