We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Process Technician to join our chemical processing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth plant operations by adhering to safety procedures, supporting shift activities, and documenting operation status. This role is critical in maintaining plant efficiency and safety, with a focus on chemical processing, polymerization, and extrusion operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend toolbox meetings and ensure all relevant operational updates are communicated effectively.
• Document the status of operations under your control in patrol logs and handover log sheets for accurate record-keeping.
• Provide support to shift operations, especially during times of manpower shortages or special operational periods requiring extra staffing.
• Work in collaboration with shift supervisors and fellow technicians to ensure smooth plant operation.
• Strictly follow documented procedures such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, risk assessments, and check sheets to ensure safe and stable operations in the plant.
• Ensure compliance with ISO14001, ISO9001, and SS506 Part 3 standards.
• Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing the chemical processes, including polymerization and extrusion (if applicable).
• Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance plant safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Nitec in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a chemical processing environment.
• Experience in polymerization and/or extrusion processes is advantageous
• Basic knowledge of chemical processing.
• Familiarity with ISO14001, ISO9001, and SS506 Part 3 standards.
• Proficient in using computing software such as MS Word and MS Excel.

Following on from work undertaken within the Finance and Actuarial teams, the FRCF programme has been initiated to assess the current state of the reporting control framework, high risk processes and to uncover specific control weaknesses or gaps.

This role will work on the FRCF Programme working closely across both the Singapore and London office to document the current state processes and identifying the risks and controls currently in place across Underwriting, Claims and Finance Operations (including reporting). This role will also capture any gaps in process that require remediation. Documentation will cover all processes end to end and within other functional areas such as; Underwriting, Claims and Financial Operations (including reporting).

The Process Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the programme meets the required objectives and there will be a level of flexibility to identify what work is undertaken.

The Process Analyst will focus on local operations in the Asia Pacific region, including Singapore and Labuan and will require significant management of stakeholder expectations. A key part of this role will be working within processes specific to MS AAP’s operations to ensure compliance with FRCF requirements.

About The Job

Whilst the Key deliverables will be the current state assessments and subsequent remediation work and target state design, activities of the role will also include:

• Produce visual representations of end-to-end workflows across various functions such as underwriting, claims, and finance using tools like Visio to:

1. Highlight steps, decision points, handoffs, and dependencies within each functional area
2. 'Map out interactions and responsibilities between different functions within the business
3. Describe each process, key tasks, roles, inputs and outputs
4. Identify areas in the process flow where delays, redundancies, or inefficiencies occur, such as approval delays

• Document insights and feedback gathered from interviews and workshops with key stakeholders from underwriting, claims and finance. Capture pain points and drill down into root cause of identified inefficiencies and performance gaps in the processes
• Examine current processes against industry benchmarks or best practices within the insurance sector to identify areas for improvement
• Analyse technology gaps contributing to delays or errors (e.g., legacy systems, manual data entry, lack of integration between platforms)
• Identify risks in current processes, such as data inaccuracies, or manual errors, and potential financial impacts
• Help produce recommendations for improvement including:

1. Quick wins: short-term, easily implementable improvements that can lead to immediate process enhancements
2. Long-term: larger-scale initiatives, such as process re-engineering, system upgrades, or introducing new technology to improve overall process efficiency.
