JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Manager, Procurement, supports the development and execution of procurement strategies, ensuring compliance and effective supplier management. This role assists in implementing procurement policies, managing vendor relationships, and optimizing processes to align with organizational objectives.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Procurement Strategy Development
Assist in developing procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, actively participating in research and analysis to respond to market changes and shifts.
- Vendor Relationship Management
Maintain positive relationships with key suppliers, monitoring industry trends and contributing to the selection of vendors that meet organizational needs.
- Assist with Target and KPI Setting
Collaborate in defining procurement targets and KPIs, ensuring they align with departmental and business objectives.
- Vendor Selection and Evaluation
Contribute to the vendor selection process by evaluating suppliers based on established criteria and supporting adherence to organizational standards.
- Compliance and Documentation
Ensure compliance with procurement policies by maintaining accurate records, assisting with internal audits, and implementing corrective measures when needed.
- Corporate Governance and Ethical Standards
Aid in enforcing corporate governance practices within procurement, promoting ethical sourcing and sustainability in line with regulatory standards.
- Technology and System Improvement
Assist with the integration of procurement technology (e.g., ERP systems) and support the continuous improvement of processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Vendor Performance and Proposal Review
Conduct vendor performance review for key vendors to ensure alignment with organizational goals, offering insights for improvement as necessary.
- Tender and Contract Management
Support and manage best sourcing for tender and major acquisitions including negotiation with shortlisted vendors to secure competitive proposals for purchase contract.
- Procurement Process Improvement
Work with operational and functional departments to identify and implement best practices as part of group procurement initiative.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in procurement or supply chain roles.
- Familiar with ERP systems and Microsoft office software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in acquisition of turn-key system would be an added advantage
ADDITIONAL NOTES
- 5 Days work week
- Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 6.00 pm.
Friday 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.
