We are looking for a HSEQ Executive for one of our global shipping clients. The incumbent will support Sustainability, Quality & Vetting Department in the implementation, communication, monitoring, and effectiveness evaluation of the Company’s management systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years’ relevant working experience in the shipping industry or 1 year of sailing experience onboard vessel.
Responsibilities:
1. Vessel Inspections
· Monitor re-inspection date(s) for all SIRE, CDI, and Rightship Inspections and USCG Certificate of Compliance (CoC). These inspections are referred to as 3rd Party Vetting Inspections.
· Assist in planning, arranging and coordination of 3rd Party Vetting Inspections as per Charter Party and/or industry requirements.
· Monitor daily communications to/from vessels relating to 3rd Party Vetting Inspections or other operational related inspections.
· Maintaining filing/archiving of relevant inspection reports, departmental records, and documentation.
2. US Requirements
· Assist in appointing QI to attend vessel calling US waters as required by management.
· Assist in arranging the application of US Vessel Response Plan and/or US State (California/ Washington) Response Plan for vessels entering US Waters.
· Maintenance of all US or US State Vessel Response Plans (Operator’s Copy) in the office as well as sending latest revision to all related vessels.
· Application of ENOI for Vessel General Permit, and submission of changes and reports.
3. Unannounced Drug and Alcohol (D&A) Test
· Assist in arranging unannounced D&A tests for all vessels.
· Unannounced D&A test to be arranged as far as practicable annually but not to exceed 12 months from date of last test.
4. Invoice Processing and CRMS Management
· Ensure all invoices pertaining to related 3rd Party inspections, request for Unannounced DNA Test, Appointment of QI, application, and maintenance of US Vessel Response Plans are paid on time.
· Ensure validity of the counterparty in CRMS when processing the invoice.
5. Any other assignments given by the Superiors related to Vetting and Inspections.
6. Monitor Sustainability Goals and Targets that have been developed for the Company including Environmental Goals and Targets. Analyzing the data where applicable and producing Sustainability Reports to be published as and when required.
7. Monitor and coordinate reports submission from vessels:
· Environmental Management System Reports.
· Incident / Injury and Near Miss Reports.
· Master Review Reports for Ship Security.
8. Administering Electronic Testing of ships personnel for:
· Unannounced Alcohol Tests.
· Unannounced verification Tests.
9. Provide Support in the admin function of the Department for:
· Monitoring vessels schedules for arranging external HSQE & ISPS audits, Green Award Surveys, MLC Audits.
10. Raise Purchase Orders (P/O) and process invoices.
11. Maintaining filing of departmental records and documents.
12. Any other assignments given by the Superiors related to Sustainability and Quality
Requirements:
· Diploma / Degree in any discipline.
· 1-2 years of working experience in the shipping industry or 1 year of sailing experience onboard a vessel.
· Good communication skills and fluent in written and spoken English.
· Good IT knowledge and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email etiquette.
· Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well under tight deadlines.
· Good knowledge of marine operations and processes.
