Position Duties

• Lead and manage a portfolio of accounting and payroll clients and ability to achieve client satisfaction and retention.
• Plan the work and provide effective leadership, supervision and guidance to staff to ensure deliverables are timely according to scope of services.
• Demonstrate expertise in primary accounting frameworks and in related financial reporting matters.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilize that knowledge on engagement.
• Managing client relationships and maintaining good rapport with clients.
• For assigned clients - maintaining full sets of books including preparing payments, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, raising journals and preparing financial reports in Xero Accounting System.
• Prepares Unaudited/Group Unaudited Financial Statements for clients.
• Provides consultancy advice to clients on various accounting, tax & payroll matters.
• Responsible for reviewing the work of the Accounting/tax team.
• Review income tax returns and GST quarterly filings, assisting clients in resolving tax issues with the tax authority.
• Oversee payroll support for clients and monthly CPF submissions.
• Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.

• Recognized degree in Accountancy and/or equivalent professional qualification.
• Ideally between 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, preferably from a professional services firm in Assurance/Accounting/Outsourcing/Client Accounting environment.
• Ability to prepare Group accounts preferred.
• Computer savvy with proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills preferably can speak Japanese
• Able to meet tight deadlines.
• Proactive in problem-solving and client management.
• Meticulous and detailed.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Singapore compliance requirements on accounting, tax, payroll, Companies Act, Accounting and Payroll Software is a definite advantage.
• Experience with cloud accounting software, Xero will be preferred.
• Proficiency in XBRL is a plus.

Job Overview:

As an Events Manager (contract) with Decathlon, you will play a crucial role in the successful planning and execution of a large-scale sports day event, overseeing the entire process from pre-event preparation to post-event activities. This contract provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in events management and the sports industry.

Responsibilities:

Before Event:

• Identify and approach organizations for participation in the sports day event.
• Prepare comprehensive campaign briefs for each participating organization.
• Onboard partners and sponsors to enhance the success of the event.
• Build a detailed budget for the entire event, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders, including communications, commercial, legal, finance, and partners.
• Plan and execute effective communication strategies for the event.
• Develop a retro planning timeline to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
• Plan the schedule and logistics for the sports day.
• Manage contracts with participating organizations and vendors.

During Event:

• Safely and efficiently execute the sports fiesta, ensuring the well-being of the 20,000 participants over two days.

After Event:

• Conduct an After Action Review to assess the event's success and identify areas for improvement.
• Manage and process invoices related to the event.

Event Details:

• Oversee an event with 20,000 participants spanning over two days. 
• A weekend to celebrate Decathlon members through a sports fiesta in collaboration with sports partners/clubs/associations to bring the sports community together. Connecting aspiring athletes in the discovery of sports, with opportunities to join Sports Singapore Academy.
