What you’ll do

You'll engage medical/ scientific experts in in-depth medical/ scientific product or disease area discussions, and deliver presentations in a non-promotional scientific context as determined by global/local Medical Affairs plans and in line with the area therapeutic brand strategy. You'll also act as an educational resource to internal stakeholders, providing medical/ scientific knowledge, training, and support to internal stakeholders on AstraZeneca's marketed products and compounds in development.

Primary Objectives of Position

• Manage the overall supervision of maintenance activities in depot and workshop
• Responsible for the availability of passenger trains, engineering train vehicles, light rail vehicles and workshop overhaul or plant equipment for mainline operation.
• Manage the budget expenditure of the section
• Ensure all defects on vehicles/equipment are rectified in a safe and responsive way.
• Provide an effective technical support service to all other Rolling Stock sections, including development and control of an overall maintenance plan, provision of Work Instructions, procedures and technical documentation and provision of regular performance information.
• Ensure that Rolling Stock staff and contractors within their sections are adequately trained and competent to perform their tasks safely and proficiently in the railway environment.
• Overall-in-charge of managing corrective and preventive maintenance of NEL/SPLRT passenger trains, engineering trains, light rail vehicles, or depot plant equipment.
• Overall-in-charge for all engineering projects in NEL/SPLRT Rolling Stock.

Major Responsibilities

• The day-to-day management of staff in their section.
• Ensuring individual roles, functions and responsibilities are clearly defined and communicated.
• Managing section budget resources to maximize maintenance outcomes and improve customer satisfaction.
• Providing advice and support to the HOD and Executive management as required.
• Identifying areas for improvement through training and development programs
• Ensure all staff are adequately trained and competent.
• Manage, lead, and motivate the section to achieve reliability, quality, cost and availability targets to meet customer needs.
• Maintain the performance of all vehicles and depot equipment.
• Perform and standby for company and department duty schedule such as PST, EIC, AEIC or Rerailment duty

Specific Safety Responsibilities

• Ensure all work related to the section are undertaken in a safe way during all maintenance activities in Sengkang Depot.
• Undertake Monthly Safety Observations of all areas under the purview of Rolling Stock and ensure that controls are in place to achieve safety.

Job Specifications

Minimum Education / Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering from a recognized university or polytechnic.

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

• Preferably with 3 years of relevant experience in Railway Engineering/Maintenance or equivalent

Knowledge/Skills

• Strong Communication, Writing, Analytical and Problem solving skills
• Knowledge of Training and Development, preferably with full ACTA qualification
• Conversant in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Sea Import

• Provide sea freight LCL/FCL and LCC/FCC quotation to clients
• Process import clearance orders through email/fax/international dept routing
• Request / facilitate for payment from accounts department for shipping charges / forklift charges
• Liaison with relevant party / shipping agents for documentation and releasing of shipment.
• Arrange for exchange of delivery order / portent release to agents / carriers
• Arrange for import clearance from Container Port / KD / CZ within the given time frame
• Liaison with transport / haulier contractor to arrange / deliver cargoes / containers to the required locations
• Forward to customer the POD
• Perform billing once job is completed with all relevant documents – with proper SOPS
• Assist international department with sea import costing for billing / quotation purposes
• Liaison with customs for customs supervision matters when the need arises
• Generate import permit for clearance (IG, ME, II, OO, IT)
• Coordinate, activate and execute shipments and ensure prompt delivery to locations specified by the customers.
• Ensure all emails / communications are responded in timely fashion.
• Co-ordinate and take delivery instructions from the Customers
• Track and monitor progress of shipments and report/update Customers.
• Coordinate vessel loading and delivery on board arrangements
• Offland collection from vessel
• Follow up on POD upon job completion

Sea Export

• To handle Customer enquiries with full comprehension of requirements
• To source for ocean freight rates – LCL, FLC, BB
• To submit quotations within time frame to HOD for approval
• Preparation of shipping documents – all aspects
• Coordinate with Inter-departments and operations to ensure accuracy in documentations and invoicing
• Liaison with Inter Department on shipment arrangements, if required
• Liaison with Overseas Agents for Freight handling and charges
• Track and monitor progress of shipments and report / update customers.
• Preparation of Billing Instructions (BIs) for submission to Accounting
• Submit reports as and when directed by the HOD
• Resolve Customer’s service issues and complaints
• Submit other reports as directed and required by The Management

Finance/Accounting:

· keep and maintain proper accounting records for submission to Finance team

· assist the Finance team to facilitate and expedite Accounting functions

· assist in printing of Invoices in SAP, if required

· submit financial reports, as instructed

· other duties as assigned by the Finance department/Management

Air Operations:

· monitor, retrieve from third parties and file delivery orders as proof of delivery (POD) and marry them to related jobs

· check and verify Agents' and Vendors' invoices for accuracy against their quotation

· prepare, check, complete and submit billings (BI) to Air Operations HOD for approval

· other duties as assigned by the HOD/Management
