The Technical Consultant is responsible for providing technical guidance and expert advice to our banking clients on the configuration of Temenos Products and customized developments throughout all stages of projects from initiation to post-live support. The Candidate should have strong core banking and/or Private Wealth Management technical experience in a Temenos Suite of products (T24 or TAP and TTI). We are looking to appoint a full-time Research Associate (History) at the School of Humanities in Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

The incumbent will be part of one of a collaborative team of researchers based in NTU’s History Department working on the history of environmental crises and epidemics in colonial Hong Kong led by Assistant Professor Florence Mok. The Research Associate will focus on examining how transnational networks which linked Hong Kong and other places, especially Southeast Asia, affected the development of the Cold War, which in turn influenced state’s response to different kinds of crises, political and natural.

The fellowship position is a fixed term post for 12 months, with a possibility of further extension.

About the Project

This study will make an original contribution to the political, social and environmental history of modern Asia, British colonialism and the Cold War by exploring how the colonial government and the Chinese society in Hong Kong mitigated environmental crises from 1945 to 1980, with the Cold War in the background. This is a period of historical significance: it witnessed growing policy initiatives, increased economic affluence and rising political and social consciousness. It will focus on how the state and popular responses to water shortages, in particular propaganda, were influenced by Cold War politics. The proposed study will use a traditional historical approach of examining published sources and archival manuscripts in Hong Kong and London.

Key Responsibilities:

• Examine the data collected from the Hong Kong Public Records Offices and the National Archives at Kew.
• Carry out literature survey on Hong Kong history and different theories, in particular work Cold War networks between Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, different forms of propaganda and approaches of crisis management.
• Coordinate with the History Research Fellow, the History Associate and PI, apply theoretical frameworks to the historical/archival findings.

• He/She is required to prospect for new accounts, maintain existing accounts, and build relationships with newly acquired customers.
• Service corporate accounts and manage full sales cycles
• You are required to apply appropriate strategies to increase sales.
• Keep updated on market competition and prices
• Attend site meetings and responsible to liaise with our customers on their solution needs and after sales need.
• Follow up and process sales orders, sales report generation, project management and sales presentations.
• Corresponding with customers on quotations and purchase order related issues.

• Any other ad hoc duties assigned

Requirements:

• A degree or diploma holder preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Applicants with no working experience are welcomed (Training provided)
• Strong knowledge of pumps and their applications is highly desirable
• Experience in engineering sales/customer service is a plus.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Willingness to travel for business purposes as required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to learn, pleasant personality, humble responsible, positive working attitude and hardworking.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the Research Fellow are

• Developing 3D integral equation / boundary element method-based codes.
• Accelerating these codes with matrix/tensor decomposition-based and fast Fourier transform-based schemes.
• Adopting these codes for multiple-CPU and/or GPU platforms via parallelization schemes.
• Validating these codes via canonical and real-world examples.

Prepare Quality Control Plan, procedures and QA/QC reports.

Inspect the final output, comparing it to the requirements and approving or rejecting the final products.

Knowledge of welding inspection and ISO standards, familiar with CONQUAS, Green Mark and other essential BCA requirements.

In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and legal standards.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Willing to travel to various sites.

Prepare Inspection Test Plan (ITP).

Prepare document submission for client's approval.

Compile and receive relevant material certificates and test report from suppliers.

Co-ordinate with relevant testing laboratories for material testing and witnessing.

Assist the project team on QA/QC matters.

Good understanding of construction industry practices and standards in particular metal works and facade works.

Degree / Diploma in Civil Structural Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years relevant experience in metal work and facade industry.
