Project Title: Sustainable catalysts for the synthesis of carbon-heteroatom bonds

Project Introduction:

Transition-metal catalyzed carbon-heteroatom strategies for the generation of selective carbon-nitrogen, carbon-sulfur and carbon-oxygen bonds has emerged as a versatile strategy for chemical synthesis. In particular, the intense demand for these strategies has been driven by its applications in producing key intermediates which are prevalent building blocks for the construction of many natural products and pharmaceuticals. Many of the existing protocols for performing this type of transformation have been accomplished using toxic and expensive transition metals such as palladium, nickel, rhodium and ruthenium metal catalysts. In most instances, the catalysts are easily rendered ineffective unless carried out under stringent inert conditions and anhydrous solvents. Generally, the catalytic systems based on such transition metals are perceived as expensive methodologies with higher toxicity.

Despite advances made in carbon-heteroatom bonds formation reactions, there is still a pertinent need to develop new protocols that are less toxic, sustainable, and experimentally simple. In this project, we aim to address this challenge by applying more environmentally benign metal salts as catalysts for carbon-heteroatom bonds formation reactions.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a closely related field is required.
• Candidate must have at least one year of experience working in a chemistry lab.
• Experience in the synthesis and characterization of organic compounds is necessary.

• Be the conduit between NES and Safety regional team for information sharing and reporting request. Prepare and submit safety reports in accordance to company and Singapore requirement.
• Responsible for risks assessments which include review, maintain and update risk assessments in accordance to the current Workplace Safety and Health Act’s (WSHA) requirement.
• Ensure compliance of operations with Workplace Safety and Health/Environmental Control regulations and statutory requirements
• To conduct incident and accident investigations and maintain proper documentation of all safety records.
• File accident and injury reports to Ministry of Manpower (MOM)
• Assist the conduct of emergency response drill.
• Support ad-hoc task assigned by supervisor Security Management:
• Evaluate current security processes and systems and stay abreast of legislative security requirements and industry best practices.
• Be in charge of security related matters such as outsource partners
• Review security procedures and security management timely for improvement initiatives and to address evolving risks.

Experience / Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma/Professional certification in Workplace Safety & Health
• Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with MOM (Preferably)
• FSM certification, Biz Safety Level 2
• Manage Work at Height Certificate- Assessor/ Manager
• Preferably with knowledge of local legislation e.g.WSH/SCDF/NEA, Ready to act in emergencies, knowledge in WSH Act, ISO45001, ISO14001, Security Management System

General Overview

This position is part of the IT & Procurement Group providing procurement services to relevant business groups. The candidate shall support the Procurement and Warehouse Manager in ensuring that warehouse operations and activities are performed in adherence to procedures, and safe and efficient operations of goods and equipment.

The candidate performs deliveries, asset management and transaction documentation process, and secure handling of goods. He / She shall also support the implementation of improvement opportunities within the warehouse operations.

This will be a 2 years contract role subject to extension.

Roles & Responsibilities

The incumbent shall undertake the following activities:

1. Performs loading/ unloading/ arranging of warehouse cargo and stock items.
2. Comply with height, weight and special handling requirements in stacking, moving, and arranging items on pallets according to storage plans,
3. Liaise with Users to perform pre-inspection of goods and equipment.
4. Performs Goods Received and Goods Issuance transactions in SAP.
5. Generates barcode and ensure clear labelling for all inventory items.
6. Assist in annual stocktake and cyclecounts.
7. Perform warehouse operations in accordance with 5S (sort, set, shine, standardise, sustain) techniques
8. Report warehousing issues to Procurement & Warehouse Manager in a timely manner.
9. Perform safety and health risk assessment and report WSH incidents.
10. Performs any other tasks or participates in special projects as assigned by reporting manager.

Work Experiences

1. At least 3 years’ experience in warehouse & inventory management preferably from the LNG, Petrochemicals or Power industries.
2. Basic knowledge of SAP / Warehouse Management System (WMS)
3. Proficiency in basic Ms Office Applications
4. Physically fit for tasks that may involve lifting and moving packages
5. Good team player, able to work well independently and in a team
6. Fork Lift licence is preferred.

Key Tasks:

Responsibilities

• Executing risk based financial, operational and compliance audit which includes developing internal audit scope and audit planning.
• Prepare audit program and document work performed in a clear and organised manner.
• Conduct review and testing for controls and compliance with best practices, policies and procedures.
