The Technology Pillar of AI Singapore is looking to hire a Research Fellow specialising in Artificial Intelligence to conduct constant high-quality research in target domains with significant outputs. The researcher will undertake in-depth research to design and develop grant challenges that can be implemented to help solve impactful societal problems.

The Research Fellow will work closely with Principal Investigators, Software Engineers and Project Managers to deliver high-impact publications of top-tier international conferences and journals.

Duties & Responsibilities
● Conduct feasibility study on various AI research topics
● Survey the state-of-the-art algorithms and applications for target topics
● Develop problem statement and evaluation metrics for target topics
● Investigate dataset availability and lead dataset generation
● Perform quality benchmarking on datasets
● Publish high-quality research papers on the survey and benchmarking in top-tier international conferences and journals
● Contribute to knowledge exchange and technology transfer activities with partners from both public and private sectors

Qualifications

● A PhD in Computer Science or equivalent, with specialization related to data science and artificial intelligence;
● Computational thinking with proven ability to conduct independent research with a strong and relevant publication record;
● Experienced in working with a diverse range of data types;
● Experienced in using the latest AI, and big data platforms;
● Experienced in working in a team, with people of diverse skillsets; and
● Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills in English

Job Scope:

Working in the Memorial Facilities and Planning Division within the Public Health Services and Capabilities Group, you will assist the section to provide after-death care services at government cemetery. The workman may be assigned to assist in either the traditional soil burial or the Crypt Burial System burials.

1. Soil Burial

• Manual digging of burial plot when necessary
• Prepare grave plot for burial
• Backfill burial plot after burial

2. Crypt Burial System Burial

• Assist in opening of burial crypt covers
• Signal and direct the lifting machine operator during the lifting operation
• Prepare grave plot for burial
• Backfill burial plot after burial

Job Requirements:

• Fully vaccinated (more than 14 days after completing vaccination regimen of 2 doses and booster shot)
• Completed primary education level (i.e. Primary 6)
• Able to handle digging tools
• Able to speak and understand simple English
• Willing to work in after-death care service environment
• Able and willing to work on weekends and public holidays
• Able to work independently as well as in teams

Salary: $10 - $11/hour

Job Descriptions:

• Payroll and claims for various government agencies using SAP system, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established policies and procedures
• Processing payroll, including payment of salary, annual increment, bonus, AWS, allowances and statutory contributions
• Process salaries of exit cases (including no-pay leave)
• Ensure that appropriate certification and approvals are in place
• Ensure that all pay transactions are being verified and approved by Supervisor before being processed for payments
• Billing of seconded officers for various government agencies
• Perform manual computations of overpayment cases and ensure recoveries are promptly followed up
• Process Journals and Payment Vouchers in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Exercise independent analysis and judgement according to SOPs and recommend course of action when responding to Service Partners
• Provide excellent customer service and timely response to service partners to address their queries
• Conduct independent reviews of work processes and systems and recommend possible improvements to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness
