As we prepare to launch our AI-driven e-commerce platform, we are seeking a talented and passionate Fashion and Retail Merchandiser to join our team.
DORS is run by Singapore Fashion Council (SFC), the official association for the fashion industry in Singapore. Our mission at SFC is quite simple: To create A Vibrant Asian Hub For Responsible* Fashion.
Position Overview:
The Fashion and Retail Merchandiser will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and supporting the General Manager/Head of Operations in executing inventory strategies and optimizing merchandising efforts. This role is key to maintaining efficient inventory management processes, ensuring seamless logistics flow, and facilitating strong collaboration with brand partners. Additionally, The Fashion and Retail Merchandiser will be responsible to stay updated on trending brands and curate a diverse selection to drive revenue growth.
This role also focuses on growing corporate gifting revenue in the B2B segment, creating greater visibility opportunities for brands. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, brand partnerships, and logistics, to ensure business objectives are met and that operational goals align with broader strategic initiatives. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Success in this role will be measured by inventory accuracy, optimized stocking capacities, increased corporate gifting revenue, and efficient operational processes, all while fostering strong relationships with internal teams and brand partners, and contributing to sales growth through strategic brand selection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date with the latest fashion trends, industry news, and competitor activities to identify potential opportunities and challenges.
- Product Selection: Curate a diverse and appealing product assortment that aligns with our brand identity and target market.
- Sales Analysis: Track sales performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve sales and profitability.
- E-commerce Merchandising: Develop effective online merchandising strategies, including product placement, category management, and search engine optimization.
- Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and brands to negotiate favourable terms and secure exclusive products.
- Support in Strategic Decision-Making:
- Assist the General Manager/Head of Operations in making informed decisions related to inventory management and setting strategic goals for the business.
- Actively contribute insights through data analysis of product categories and brands to drive improvements in operational processes.
- Serve as the primary contact for operations-related matters, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations.
- Manage inventory facilities and systems, ensuring that storage space is optimized, and all relevant processes are well-organized.
- Oversee inventory management, including data analysis of product categories/brands, optimizing stocking levels, and ensuring accurate stock counts.
- Manage processes related to price changes, stock withdrawals, goods receiving, and store displays.
- Ensure inventory accuracy by investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective measures.
- Corporate Gifting and B2B Revenue Growth:
- Take charge of growing corporate gifting revenue in the B2B segment by creating opportunities for greater brand visibility.
- Work with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute corporate gifting strategies that showcase partner brands.
- Build relationships with corporate clients to expand the corporate gifting program and increase sales through tailored offerings.
- Brand Partnership Facilitation:
- Collaborate closely with brand partners to ensure optimal stocking capacity in line with projected sales budgets.
- Facilitate key interactions with brand partners related to stock management, ensuring all pricing, stock movements, and displays are accurate.
- Ad Hoc Projects and Tasks:
- Be involved in special projects and take on ad hoc tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills in fast-paced scenarios.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in fashion and retail merchandising, preferably in a multi-brand environment.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, consumer behaviour, and the retail landscape.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for fashion and a keen eye for detail.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience with e-commerce platforms and digital marketing.
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning applications in retail.
- Experience working with a diverse range of brands and designers.
