Job Purpose

Bilingual Programme Specific Tasks and Duties

• Review and support students’ in-class and home learning

Specific Tasks and Duties

• Observe and monitor student behaviour in the classroom, during transitions and at recess reporting any matters of concern to the appropriate teacher

• Create displays and signage in the classroom and corridor areas

Curriculum and Pedagogy

• Provide specialist support and interventions for students individually or in groups as directed by the AP Bilingual Programme or English homeroom teacher
• Liaise regularly with the AP Bilingual Programme or English homeroom teacher regarding planning and teaching of identified groups or individual students
• Use 1:1 and group support strategies, resources and programme
• Deliver 1:1 and group support tasks as directed by the AP Bilingual Programme or English homeroom teacher
• Assess and feedback suggested next steps for each student supported through 1:1 and group tasks, to the English homeroom teacher and relevant grade level teachers

Communication

• Communicate with teaching and administrative staff, Teaching Assistants, TP Resources Coordinator, the Leadership Team and students effectively, respectfully and in a timely manner
• Report to the AP Student Success any matters related to child safeguarding, Health and Safety, discipline or personal concerns

Collaboration and Relationship Management

• Work collaboratively and purposefully with assigned teachers and other Teaching Assistants
• Support teachers with the organisation and management of the students as a class, in groups or individually whilst promoting high standards of behaviour and discipline
• Collaborate and communicate regularly with the AP Student Success and TP Resources Coordinator as part of a team that supports the academic, social and emotional development of each child

Self-Evaluation and Quality Assurance

• Participate in the school’s evaluation process as a reflective practitioner and use this as an opportunity for professional growth

The Healthcare Assistant provides comfort care to patients with terminal illness and end-stage organ failure under the supervision of trained staff. This role will deliver a range of patient care duties under the supervision of trained staff providing basic patient care.

Duties:

• Assist Staff Nurse in admission, transferring and discharge process.
• Participate in direct bedside care with team members.
• Perform basic hygiene and general nursing care to patients with terminal illness and End-Of-Life (EOL) care.
• Observe patient’s clinical condition including response to treatments, goals of care and changes in physical and emotional status, and reports findings to Staff Nurse in charge, as appropriate.
• Provide care following safety, infection control practices, hazardous material and waste policy and procedures.
• Document nursing assessment and interventions carried out accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist Doctors and nurses in performing procedures.
• Assist with the orientation of new Nursing Aide and Healthcare Attendant.
• Ensure safety of patients.
• Participate in linen inventory and ensures that linen supply is sufficient and is replenished daily for use.
• Attend continual education to update skills and knowledge on palliative nursing care.

Requirements:

• Completed primary / secondary school leaving examination.
• Completed ISC (ITE Skills Certificate) Homecare Course/Certificate in Eldercare from NYP/Certificate in Organising for successful ageing from NYP.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare sector preferred.
• Mature, proactive, meticulous and able to multi-task.
